Job Summary:
The Marketing Strategy Supervisor participates in market research, and product/program management to assist in the development and execution of segment marketing strategies. He/She is responsible for supporting a particular industry/customer segment by gathering information and performing analyses used to assess the performance of UPS’s products, services, customer segments, and value propositions.
This role requires the excellent analytical skills to identify trends and gain market insights, and strong communication skills to translate insights into presentable materials and impart your market knowledge to higher management and other internal stakeholders. Interpersonal skills and team work is needed in order to effectively work with other functions and lead cross-functional projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Market Research:
Perform market research and analysis at both macro and micro levels to identify opportunities, prioritize customer segments, develop new offerings and measure company’s performance, including:
• Builds and runs queries to collect customer behavior and demographic information that identifies trends within targeted customer segments.
• Performs data analyses to convert raw data into relevant metrics to establish and document product/segment performance
• Conducts research (e.g., phone calls, focus groups, e-mail surveys, etc.) with customer segments to determine project/program obstacles, problems or opportunities for new offerings.
• Conducts detailed analysis of the Country’s current and potential revenue and profit within the industry or segment to inform the identification and targeting of opportunities.
• Determines gaps in funnel relative to segment potential to identify and prioritize opportunities.
• Geographically maps and quantifies pockets of industry concentration and economic growth potential to inform prioritization of opportunities.
• Provides prioritized lead lists to focus efforts on selected opportunities.
Marketing Strategy
• Works with cross functional groups (e.g., marketing, communications, customer technology, etc.) to define strategic opportunities and/or program components, assess market size, and build marketing and communications plans.
• Acts as subject matter expert for new product development and assesses the impact of new products and services on existing products and services; assist other functions in writing business requirements for new products and marketing programs.
• Develop project proposal and Program Development Document for initiative (i.e., description of project, cost and revenue impacts) to establish project priorities.
• Generates marketing tactics to target customer issues and business drivers.
Support Customers and Products
• Responds to internal and external customer inquiries to solve problems and answer questions about new programs or program content.
• Supports the sales force by assisting in the development of sales strategies to address customer needs that increase volume and revenue.
• Works with the Communications Department to create materials for customers and the sales force (e.g., press releases, customer case studies, trade shows, etc.) that support current projects and marketing initiatives.
Other responsibilities:
• Project management
• Support strategy sessions by setting agenda, work programs etc
• Support in developing presentations, proposals and other materials to share with customers and higher management.

Work Experience / Education:
• Minimum 2 years of experience in equivalent positions
• Degree in Economics, International/Foreign Trade, Marketing or relevant fields
• Strong in quantitative analysis; knowledge of Microsoft Access, Powerpoint is essential.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
