This position more focuses on understanding reimbursement and tender process from nationwide to account (hospital) level to list MDT prioritized portfolio /therapy in reimbursement process and got approval, implement reimbursement in account level.
The role of this position is providing guidance, training on reimbursement and tender to internal stakeholder (Business Unit) and external (local distributor), provide framework, tool for commercial team and support them developing account plan and enable them to implement successfully reimbursement and tender in account level.
This role also involves in shaping policy for reimbursement and tender, working with key policy makers and KOKs to leverage their voice and influence in decision making process. Coordinate with BU and other relevant functional support to conduct appropriate training for KOLs in Medical Device Management Department, Social Insurance and other appropriate key stakeholders.
For Centralized tender which is identified as a trend in medical device in next couple coming year years, this position will be responsible to work with Head of Government Affair and Market Access, Business Unit and relevant internal key stake holder to develop strategic centralized tender for each BUs depends on BU priority. Working closely with Key Decision Maker (KDM) to obtain their advocacy.
This position will report directly to Government Affair and Market Access Manager.
A day in the life
1. Development and execution of reimbursement:
Deep dive an analysis reimbursement and tender process in public sector at nationwide and account level
Review current reimbursement policy and identify opportunity for MDT portfolio
Work with BUs to identify the opportunity and priority for therapy/technique for reimbursement
Map MTD portfolio and current reimbursement to identify “quick win “opportunity and targeted therapies/ technique for reimbursement at national (i.e. MOH /health insurance reimbursement list) and develop plan how to get approval for reimbursement
For product/therapies /technique has been reimbursed by health insurance, working with BUs to identify targeted account and plan for reimbursement implementation.
Review product/therapies /technique has been reimbursed by health insurance to identify opportunity for increasing ceiling reimbursement and develop action plan for that.
Coordinate with Medical (if appropriate) and BUs for local study /survey to generate local data to support decision making process for reimbursement.
2. Support tender process
Under tender policy and current tender practice for Medical Device
Review tender process in Medtronic to identify the gap
Develop process, tool and framework to enable process more effectively
Work closely with Channel Management team to provide training on tender process at Medtronic (if needed) to local distributor to facilitate tender procedure
Work closely with top 5 distributor and channel for ensuring tender management is continuously improved.
3. Development networks and build relationship with KLOs, KDM and work closely with them to gain advocacy and endorsement for MDT
Develop KOL, KDM map and engagement plan
Visit KOLs, KDM in frequency manner
Collaborate with BUs to conduct workshop/training for KOLs for relevant topics to facilitate reimbursement and tender.
