Marine and Grounds Executive

This position is responsible for vessel operations & intermodal activities in the country and other related tasks assigned by manager.
This position reports directly to the Marine/ Ground Operation Manager.

Key responsibilities
Vessel operations
• Act as focal point of Operations to coordinate between various parties (ship, area office, customer service, sales, area Operations desks, global service center, partners, terminal, suppliers etc) to ensure a smooth call of vessel to Vietnam ports.
• At all times follow the SOP – standard operating process and other instruction from manager.
• Work with relevant parties to prepare optimal berthing plan for vessel.
• Create stowage plan for loading that will maximize the loading of the vessel while ensure a high load/discharge productivity and high schedule reliability.
• Coordinate all matters of vessel operations falling under responsibilities of country operations as and when instructed by Marine/ Ground Operations Manager.
• Keep track of performance via KPI, take proper action to drive for improvement
• Keep track of vendor performance and drive them for improvement
• Proactively work with commercial and render support to ensure a good service to customer
• Continuously find way to improve process, SOP
• Coordinate matters related to transportation plan such as cut off time, delay in transit, change of destination, out of gauge (OOG) acceptance, dangerous goods (DG) acceptance etc.
• Coordinate with relevant parties to resolve any ad-hoc situation
• Master the use of relevant system, ensure system are maintained and updated as per SOP

Intermodal
• Coordinate with internal parties, vendors…following the SOP to closely monitor and execute intermodal activities (trucking, barging…) effectively and smoothly. Ensure on time delivery as per commitment to customer.
• Keep track the performance of vendor and take suitable action to ensure the service level delivery
• Coordinating with commercial desk to making sure all intermodal cost is well recovered by revenue we collect from customer.
• Master the use of relevant system, ensure system are maintained and updated as per SOP
• Take actions to promote the intermodal volume growth in country.

Equipment
• Take ownership, coordinate and handle equipment activities/ tasks within the company, between different location.
• Carry out the audit performance of depot and EMR vendor

Others
• SOP maintenance and adherence.
• Carry out vendor audits, Gemba walk, customer visit, cross functional activities.
• Make necessary preparation for VMS meeting, actively join the discussion.
• To assist department manager in related projects or research as required.
• Constantly review, recommend and implement improvements to Marine and ground Operations Manager.
• Person must learn additional tasks in order to be able to back up other team member during absence. Maintain high level of practice sharing within the department so that even in critical case all primary tasks can be well maintained.

We are looking for
Education and Experience
• Bachelor Degree in Maritime / Transportation / Economics / Foreign Trade is preferred.
• Experience in shipping is preferred.
• Good Microsoft Office skills, computer skills
