Manufacturing Systems and Industrial Engineer (Haiphong)

To support the implementation and maintenance of the VinFast Excellence Systems to identify area for elimination of waste (include labour, process etc.), together with development of cost efficient process’ to improve the overall operating efficiency/effectiveness of the site.

Assist the Technical Managers and Production Managers with the development of strategies to implement improvements in standardised work, material flow, labour allocation and line balance to maximise safety, quality and overall efficiencies of the site.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Support the Implementation & Maintenance of the VinFast Excellence System.
• Provide a systematic approach to measuring production activities through standard time methodology.
• Drive a continuous improvement culture that can identify and eliminate waste.
• Responsible to provide Standardised Work.
• Ensure that continuous improvement and waste elimination outcomes enhance quality.
• Investigate, analyse and develop plans to ensure that continuous improvement opportunities are maximised.
• Liaise with relevant leaders to ensure that timing and implementation plans are developed and actioned.
• Engage Plant and Equipment, Manufacturing Engineering and Material representatives where necessary in planning discussions to ensure that any potential delays are eliminated.
• Coach manufacturing personnel to practice a right first-time approach and foster a continuous improvement culture through the effective execution of lean manufacturing and quality systems.
• Support leadership and maintain plant focus on productivity, ergonomics and layouts.
• Provide training in the VinFast Excellence Systems.
• Initiate process and productivity improvements that will increase efficiency and reduce cost.
• Development of Cost Efficient process’ by reducing walk paths, combining elements.
• Use the best processes, practice’s and technologies to eliminate waste throughout the company.
• Encourage two-way communication at all levels when engaged in fact finding to ensure that all relevant data is available before developing plans.
• Identify and actively participate in processes and procedures focused on increasing productivity, reducing costs, and improving safety and quality.
• Ability to lead projects to successful, on-time completion in a safe manner as well as have the ability to be an active contributing team member.
• Develop strategies to implement the recommended improvements.
• Support needed process change and implementation plan to resolve ergonomic problems.
• Utilise and engage Safety Advisors and Representatives to advise on Safety requirements to be incorporated in any revised workplace improvement to ensure that operators safety is not compromised.

• 5+ years’ experience in an Industrial Engineering role, and a strong technical mindset. Leadership experience preferred but not essential.
• PC experience to include Microsoft Access, Excel, Word, Power Point, and Project required.
• Education: Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing field essential.
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt project experience and/or certification is preferred.
• Sound Technical knowledge of a highly automated environment desirable.
• Clear understanding of Lean principles and the personal commitment to continuous improvement.
• Strong understanding and experience in Time Motion Studies and Standardisation.
• Proven ability to coordinate large teams (include workflow, performance management & cost management).
• Good common-sense business insight and experience with the development and implementation of business strategy
• Strong problem solving skills and the ability to grasp and effectively use technical concepts and technical information.
• Highly motivated, self-starter, and active learner with strong interpersonal, communication, written and oral skills.
• Demonstrated ability to perform successfully in multi-national relationships.
