Manufacturing Engineering Manager

A creative and dedicated manufacturing engineer with an array of experience in various product manufacturing disciplines; Metal Forming, Metal Stamping, Molding, Casting, Machining as well as electro-mechanical assemblies which includes but not limited to PCB, PCBA, Wire Harnesses. The position will be based out of our Da Nang, Vietnam office with frequent travel to our Dongguan, China manufacturing facilities to instill a methodology of manufacturing excellence.

The Manufacturing Engineering Manager will have direct reports in manufacturing, design engineering as well as have customer interface to assure manufacturing designs and best practices are implemented. This individual must show leadership skills and collaboration with supply chain, engineering, production and quality.

The ideal candidate for this position must have the technical knowledge, experience and leadership ability to unite design, manufacturing engineering, supply chain and quality to promote a cooperative and productive work environment.

This position reports to the Director of Asian Operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Set Direction and Department Goal and Task Setting for NPI transition to manufacturing
• Design and Develop Manufacturing processes, tools, and fixtures.
• Scoping and evaluation of production automation equipment.
• Execution of Process and Equipment Verification and Validation, IQ/OQ/PQ
• Execution and leading process improvements through Gage R&R, Cpk and SPC
• Understanding and implementation of Lean Manufacturing, Value Stream Mapping and 5S techniques.
• Protocol and Report Writing
• Creation and modification of manufacturing work instructions.
• Work with cross functional teams as required.
• Leads and resolves or aids in resolution of production process problems.
• Leads and supports all company initiatitves for quality, safety and reliability.
• Maintains positive attitude and collobartation will all employees, clients and suppliers.


Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing / Industrial / Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent required with a Masters’ degree preferred.
• Minimum 10 years related manufacturing experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Six Sigma certification preferred
• Strong problem solving and project management skills
• Ability to lead a team, work in a team and be an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing workplace.
• Ability to work closely with others to accomplish goals
• Ability to travel internationally (USA, China)
• Ability to read 2D and 3D part prints and models, electrical schematics, wire harness diagrams and BOM documents.
• Strong people-management skills.
• Superb written and oral communication skills.
• Excellent computer skills, specifically Microsoft Office, MRP, CAD
