Manufacturing Engineer

PRIMARY FUNCTION: The Manufacturing Engineer – Grade 1 is an entry level position for fresh graduates with an engineering university degree. The role will support the Manufacturing and Quality departments with additional tasks and duties to support and improve FPC operations and meet production schedules and deadlines.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Assist to ensure manufacturing lines are operational and functioning correctly
- Execute Engineering Change Orders (ECO) for tooling, material, and process changes
- Ensure waste materials are discarded in their designated containers and properly managed
- Assist with tech transfers of new product lines, setup, Gage R&R, and verification
- Perform time studies to verify routings and cycle times
- Setup and maintain gages
- Ensure process control plans are running as designed and expected
- Understand and apply internal documentation including drawing, standard operating procedures, process specifications
- Develop a complete understanding of process areas, equipment, and support systems
- Understand and apply Lean and 6 Sigma
- Adhere to all safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment

Working time: 5 days per week, from Monday to Friday (Saturday and Sunday are weekends)

EDUCATION OR WORK EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering (preferred)
- Other degrees would be considered, such as: Mechtronics, Electrical, Applied Physics
- Fresh graduates accepted or candidates with 1 to 2 years work experience

TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE:
The successful applicant will demonstrate knowledge and basic understanding of the following technical skills including exposure from studies in university.
- Computer aided 2D and 3D drawing knowledge, application and use of software – AutoCAD, Inventor, SolidWorks, equivalent
- Programmable Logic Controllers understanding, application and programming
- Software application programming in Microsoft technologies
- Statistical process controls
- Demonstrated ability with Microsoft Office products

REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Analytical and able to troubleshoot technical issues
- General electrical and mechanical knowledge
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Hard working and a team player
- Not afraid to ask questions and be open to learning new processes, skills
- Fluency in English and Vietnamese – spoken and written
- Good written and oral communication skills

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN:
- Learn and understand materials used in production, characteristics and finished goods
- Understand DFMEA and PFMEA procedures and processes
- Understand ISO, CE, UL and other compliance requirements
- Understand molds and encapsulation processes and characteristics
- Learn SPC process control alarms and how to handle them to bring processing back into control
- Learn interfaces of PLC tools
- Understand safety requirement, procedures, and compliance
