Maintenance Supervisor

PURPOSE:
- To plan, direct and manage the Engineering operation of the Plant, providing focus and leadership to a team responsible to deliver a total equipment management system

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Planning, directing and managing the engineering operation to ensure maximum efficiency from all equipment and services by means of corrective and preventative maintenance, and continuous improvements and modifications to equipment and methods of working
- Supporting and overseeing all aspects of Engineering/Maintenance including:
+ Machine/equipment efficiency
+ Environmental, Health and Safety Management
+ Reduction of losses and increased optimization of the Plant
+ Validation and Management of Suppliers
+ Cost reduction projects/initiatives
+ New machine/equipment installations
+ Management of training needs for Engineering employees
- Management of Engineering/Maintenance employees in line with Logoplaste policies and procedures
- Manage the training requirements of the Engineering/Maintenance team, ensuring all relevant data/information is shared with HR function at the Plant
- Responsible for the Engineering/Maintenance budget at the Plant, ensuring expenditure remains within budget and costs are continuously re-assessed to ensure the Plant remains competitive long-term
- Responsibility for energy reduction initiatives with a view to reducing costs
- Ensure active participation of Engineering/maintenance function at in-Plant and external meetings, as required
- Lead SAP CM/PM activities for Engineering/Maintenance function, providing reports as required, including spare part purchasing and inventory controls
- Co-ordination of Total Preventive Maintenance and 5-S methodologies
- Support and coordination of Engineering/Maintenance projects associated with the Plant, ensuring a close working relationship with the Plant and/or Project Manager is maintained
- Support the Production/Process/Plant Managers to ensure all machines/equipment achieve the correct OEE standards at all times.
- Performing other tasks and/or additional duties within your skill and competence as and when directed, required or deemed necessary

- Engineering degree/ higher national certification, especially in Electrical or Electrical/Industrial Automatically
- Minimum 1 - 3 years working experience in an Engineering/Maintenance Management role within a Plastics or similar multi-national company
- Experience in setting up maintenance management systems; including KPIs, preventive/predictive maintenance and inventory controls
- Good decision-making, problem solving and interpersonal skills are important factors for this role
- Practical experience in electric/mechanical maintenance and repair techniques, including hydraulics/pneumatics, whereby PLC skills are also seen as advantageous
- Practical knowledge of cost controls and methods of reducing cost-base within a manufacturing environment
- Proficient in English (speaking, writing and listening) or be prepared to undertake language classes

Maintenance Supervisor reports to the Plant Manager. In the event that the Maintenance Supervisor is on holiday or absent, it is the responsibility of Plant Manager to arrange the duty for this position
