Maintenance Manager

· Monitor stock and consumption of materials within the maintenance department.

· To manage installation, maintenance, servicing, repairing, and trouble shooting on all equipment and machines at Plant 1.

· To manage planned maintenance to ensure machines & equipment in good condition.

· Maintain a balanced stock inventory, minimize repair cost.

· Ensure sufficient supply of compressed air, water and electricity and maintain or upgrade supply as demand requires.

· Plan and implement new equipment or system for better plant performance

· Controlling, training, coaching, guiding and motivating staff to carry out their work in a timely and efficient manner.

· Assist/advise Production & other Departments for the correct and effective functioning of the machinery and supporting equipment.

· Responsible for the Departmental Budget, Manpower Planning & Control, etc.

· Responsible for the long & medium term strategies in addressing company’s needs and objectives.

· Responsible for the smooth management (day to day) of the Maintenance Department and its teams

· Responsible to provide input / recommendations in his/her fields of expertise with close consultation of the respective Plant Manager/ BOM.

Objectives

· To ensure that machines are operating correctly and efficiently to meet demand of Production and other Departments.

· To ensure that machines and plant are maintained on a regular basis and that maintenance is adequately recorded.

· To ensure that remedial/repair works are carried out promptly and that production down-time is kept to a minimum.

· To ensure that the maintenance team perform their assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner.

· To create and develop systems and controls to optimise efficiency.

To consolidate stock and resources to reduce costs/overheads.

Key performance indicators

· Achieve year-on-year reduction in number of breakdowns and downtime.

· Development of Planned Maintenance and breakdown recording systems.

· Create initiative for more efficient or reduction in use of water & electricity.

· Consolidate stock and propose/source cheaper or more cost effective solutions.

· Manage and keep within limit of maintenance budget of plant.

Maintain each machine and piece of equipment/plant at least once per year.
