• Management of Departmental staff
• Staff to prepare internal and external timesheets
• Coordinate with HR function regarding staffing requirements
• Establishment of and compliance with the systems laid down in the Company ISO 9000 quality control system.
• Establishing targets for time, budget and quality and controlling the Projects within those constraints
• Providing single point of coordination for the entire Project, where required
• Structuring of project procurement and delivery method
• Design and construction scheduling, co-ordination and administration
• Monitoring Clients requirements in relation to additional work and costs
• Preparation of schedules and monitoring of both design and construction progress
• Client co-ordination, and production of monthly reports
• Drafting of design brief and issuing for approval
• Organising investigations such as: surveys; soils surveys; test piling; environmental reports etc
• Organisation and chairing of all Design, Authority, Supplier, Contractor, and Client meetings. Prepare and circulate minutes for same.
• Transmission of Drawings, documents and keeping of records
• Advising on constructability issues related to design
• Reviews of construction documents to ensure: details are suitable and constructible; drawings are coordinated; drawings are adequate for tender and construction (No liability for design unless done by HBP)
• Authority approvals and authority liaison: planning; utilities; environment; fire department; construction department etc
• Value management exercises where required
• Preparation of Contract conditions, tender conditions etc
• Tendering services: assemble document; prepare tender plan; prequalification of contractors and suppliers; undertake tender; issue tender queries; receive tenders; review tenders; organise tender meetings; analyse tenders; issue tender reports.
• Negotiation of contracts for construction and supply
• Site supervision and international standard of construction management to ensure compliance with design documents.
• Issuance of formal site instructions, variation orders, approvals, completion certificates etc.
• Contractors and suppliers shop drawings – reviewing and approving, or where responsibility is with consultants, issuing for review and approval
• Transmission of contractors and suppliers documents to consultants and Client for approval
• Co-ordination of approval of contractor proposed materials and equipment
• Processing and recording Contractors ‘Requests for Information’
• Monitoring safety and environmental issues on site
• Maintenance of Project Records and diaries
• Drafting of project minutes, correspondence etc.
• Compilation of completion and maintenance documents
• Construction management: management of contractors to achieve Project goals
• Contract administration between project parties
• Checking as built drawings and maintenance manuals
• Ensuring accounts department are provided with information on HBP invoicing and variations
• Liaison with Facilities / Building manager near handover and control of the defects rectification process
