Legal Counsel

Reporting to : Senior Counsel, Vietnam
Working location: Ho Chi Minh

A. General job scope:
The Counsel is responsible for providing legal support as a member of the Vietnam Legal Business Integrity and Security Department. The Counsel is charged with providing high quality and responsive legal support and guidance to the Vietnam business as part of the legal team; establishing collaborative relationships with colleagues both within and outside the local business; and managing external legal resources within budgets as directed by the Senior Counsel.

B. Main responsibilities:
• Provide legal support and risk evaluation to nominated functions represented in the country, through policy interpretation, development and training contract risk management; ensuring appropriate protection of intellectual property; identification and interpretation of applicable laws and regulations; management of outside counsel, litigation and support for customer claims
• Establish a culture of compliance throughout the market through all forms of advice, communication, role modelling and training. Includes: Overseeing corporate governance compliance with law and policy; Implementing effective compliance training programs for policies owned by the Legal function.
• Providing legal support for major projects in the market as delegated
• Legal support for manufacturing, importing, marketing and distribution of products in Vietnam.
• Corporate secretarial support for all of MDLZ’s legal entities in Vietnam.

• Bachelor’s degree in law
• Law practicing license in Vietnam; Knowledge of Vietnamese laws and legal system; Understanding of the business environment
• Fluency and professional proficiency in both spoken and written Vietnamese and English are required.
• Strong planning, organizing and interpersonal skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Intelligent, efficient, confident, pro-active, attentive to detail, reliable, service-oriented, self-starting and willing to learn.
• Proficient in advanced functions of computer applications
• 7-to 10 years of working experience, 5 of which must be in a multi-national company. Prior experience in FMCG industry preferred
