Learning Resources Centre (Lrc) Manager (Librarian Manager)

Report to: Head of Registry and Student Services Department
Work location: Ecopark Township, Hung Yen

Job Objectives:
To manage the learning resource facilities at BUV Ecopark campus, and all LRC staff, in order to provide an appropriate educational environment for the students and faculty.

Key responsibilities:
• Manage the Learning Resource Centre effectively; provide a responsive and welcoming service.
• Lead, develop and manage a team of full-time as well as intern staff, including liaising with HR department on the process of staff recruitment and selection, setting clear expectations for job assignments, manage performance outcomes/goals, identifying staff development activities, mentoring, coaching and providing regular communication and feedbacks to the team or individual staff.
• Develop learning resources, in collaboration with academic staff and managers in order to meet the needs and requirements of all courses offered.
• Manage the LRC content on Virtual Learning Environments, including development of BUV specific offering.
• To be the principal source of e-resources, and of hard copy teaching and preparation of book-packs and materials, as well as liaising with suppliers to find the most cost effective means to proceed, following all University procurement procedures.
• Maintain effective cataloguing, classification and circulation systems to support service delivery.
• Provide an enquiry service for staff and students.
• Develop and manage information skills programme to ensure that staff and students can effectively access information required for teaching and learning.
• Develop, with academic staff, the provision of online self-study materials.
• Provide a leading role in the development of information technology and its applications to teaching and professional development.
• Liaise with existing and future higher education partners regarding the operation of the services that they provide to staff and students (including access to e-resources and journals).
• Promote university partners’ e-resources, providing group and individual training to staff and students on resources available.
• Monitor the use of services and resources and to provide management statistics as required.
• Prepare and manage the LRC budget to ensure effective provision within budget, and to provide financial reports to the Head of Registry and Student Services and Dean.
• Develop operational and procedural manuals relating to services, reviewing and updating in line with changes in policies.
• Strengthen/promote team work and collaboration culture across the Learning Resource Centre
• Maximise efficiencies in the use of resources.
• Implement a suitable rota, ensuring effective cover of the LRC and its services.
• To be responsible for the ordering, compilation and distribution of student book packs.
• Prepare and update reports and data to the Head of Registry and Student Services and the Dean as required.

Job Requirements:
• Vietnamese national
• Holder of Bachelor’s degree preferably in Business or Foreigner Languages
• At least 2 year experience in similar position in an academic library with focus on E-library
• Knowledge of Blackboard.
• Able to work under high pressure.
• Good leadership and management skills.
• Good at communication both in Vietnamese and English.
• Computer literacy – MS office applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook), virtual learning resource and library software applications.
