Knowledge Management Expert, Asia

General Purpose of the Position

To develop and lead the regional function of knowledge management, with the aim of contributing to the effectiveness and efficiency of the organization, the quality of the results, as well as the achievement of project and institutional objectives. To identify, collect and synthesize valuable information and knowledge organization wide. To ensure demand-orientated accessibility of knowledge and information. To organize and manage knowledge and information transfer of the institution.

Responsibilities

• To develop and implement information sharing and knowledge management strategies.
• To lead initiatives of identifying, capturing, generating, transferring and safeguarding of knowledge.
• To design and implement tools, policies and processes that contribute to the effective use of information.
• To analyze file storage systems and archives.
• To manage knowledge and content management tools.
• To ensure compliance with legislation regarding data protection and intellectual capital within the institution.

The Knowledge Management Expert, Asia will be based in Hanoi, Vietnam. He will work together with the teams in Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, Bhutan, Philippines and Indonesia (not exhaustive). He/she reports to the HQ in Germany and coordinates with the Regional Coordinator Vietnam, Laos and Myanmar in Hanoi.

Professional Background

• Bachelor´s degree (or above) in administrative areas, business or IT
• At least 2 years of experience in or organizational development or related consulting
• Experience in international cooperation
• Experience in the financial sector is a plus
• Availability to travel within the region

Methodical Skills

• Process modelling and management
• Elaboration or adaptation of existing knowledge tools
• Development and implementation of knowledge sharing programs

Soft Skills

• Proven analytical skills, critical and analytical thinking with great attention to detail
• Ability to build organizational capacity
• Research capacity, with the ability to identify good practice
• Ability to work towards results and prioritize activities
• Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to present in front of large groups, advanced presentation technics and tools
• Ability to facilitate participatory events

Language

• Excellent writing and verbal expression
• Fluent English
• German (desirable)
• Any other (South-East) Asian language is a plus
