IT Business Support & Application Specialist

Cai Mep International Terminal is looking for a highly competent and experienced IT Business Support & Application Specialist who is accountable for monitoring & administrating the Business Application systems in the terminal.

Tasks:

The position will report to the IT Ast Manager- Business Support & Application within the IT Department and based at the terminal located at Tan Thanh district, Ba Ria-Vung Tau province (Cai Mep). This position will be responsible for:

• Configures, installs, maintains and upgrades Business Application Systems, databases and related support system and applications such as TOS, ERP, database, SQL, Oracle, JAVA, Web Server & Services ...
• Enters commands and observes system functions to verify correct business system operation.
• Coordinate with various vendors regarding cases (bugs, security patches, and enhancement) for Business Systems & databases and other issues with software or hardware; receives items and prepares documentation to accompany items.
• Designs, programmes and implements connections to various databases.
• Initiates, develops and implements the business application and databases management inclusive of test, migration and software upgrade plans.
• Prepares and maintains business systems and databases security operational procedures and documentation.
• Manages the logs and audit trails requirements of the business systems & databases, the related support applications and related data.
• This position contributes to the terminal’s operational efficiency through reliable, sustainable and easily available IT solutions and services.
• Assists with business systems and database security, selecting passwords, setting security parameters, and ensuring the correct segregation of duties and process in alignment with CMIT security policy.
• Provides technical assistance and training to end users.
• Supports call out service requirements, where applicable.
• Prepares system reports as needed.
• Maintains all the licensing of software, making sure all documentation is completed.
• Answers, evaluates and prioritizes incoming telephone, e-mail and in-person requests for assistance from users experiencing problems with hardware, software, business systems, databases and other IT-related technologies.
• Interviews user to collect information about problem and leads user through diagnostic procedures to determine source of error, for simple problems. More complex problems are referred to supervision.
• Analyses user problem and finds appropriate solutions for IT- related problems.
• Assists users in understanding various options and applications within Business Systems, MS Office, including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Answers inquiries regarding status on resolving a IT-related problem.
• Guide users in the procedures for applying an application within the software, instructing them where to find a particular application.
• Manages and maintains back-up and disaster recovery plans and implementation.
• Provides risk management and quality assurance.
• The position is responsible for considering and ensuring the confidentiality of all works, documents and information received during the course of work performance with due diligence and not to disclose any confidential information to any third-party for any purpose that is not related to the company’s business during and after the employment with CMIT.
• The position has the responsibility to read, acknowledge understanding, stay updated and set good example of compliance with the company’s policies stipulated in various regulations, guides and manuals including but not limited to the Staff Manual, IT Guide, HSSE Manual, Letter of Authority, Anti-corruption policy etc.

Therefore CMIT seeks:

A strong programmer, with sense of responsibility and great customer service skills. The candidates must be qualified, decisive; results orientated as well as be able to work well under pressure.

The ideal candidates have:

• A University degree in computer science or related discipline.
• At least 2-3 years of experience in business systems and database administration and client support.
• Microsoft Database, Oracle Database certificates will be preferable (MCDBA, MCTS, OCA/OCP DBA...)
• A good understanding of Business systems & databases server architecture for installation, administration, and on-going maintenance.
• An understanding of Database Management/ efficient back-up and recovery, Business Continuity Models & Technologies.
• Experiences with API design & development (RESTful, SOAP, JWT, OAuth2).
• Building responsive design using modern web technologies stack (HTML5, CSS3, ES6, Angular, React, etc)
• Demonstrated ability and knowledge to troubleshoot a wide variety of business systems and databases management problems as they arise in the workplace.
• Experience on transportation industrial such as Terminals or Shipping lines operation is an advantage
• Must be thoroughly familiar with various Operating Systems and Microsoft Office, database engines & reporting & analytic tools.
• An understanding of MS applications, including operating systems and support system software and Virtual Infrastructure, Server Virtualization and Desktop Virtualization.
• Demonstrated knowledge of IT related hardware and software systems.
