IT Business Application Manager

Cai Mep International Terminal is looking for a highly competent and experienced IT Business Application Manager who is accountable for managing the Business Application Team focusing on the development of an efficient support structure in alignment with the business requirements.
The IT Business Application Manager will report to the Head of IT within the IT Department and based at the terminal located at Tan Thanh district, Ba Ria-Vung Tau province (Cai Mep). This position will be responsible for:
1. Develop and deploy Terminal specific IS applications:
•Configures, installs, upgrades and maintains Business Application Systems, Databases and related support system and Applications such as Terminal Operating System (TOS), ERP, SQL, Oracle, JAVA, Web Server & Services
•Manage the implementation and deployment of CMIT Business Application & the related projects
•Take lead, participate to the development of application to be developed in CMIT
•Capture and prioritise business requirements for Terminal IS applications & Business solution
•Ensure all the business applications be aligned with the CMIT policy and standards
•Direct the development and implementation for Terminal Applications including the management of vendors consistent with CMIT policy and standard
•Ensure that Terminal infrastructure will support implementation and deployment of each CMIT Terminal application, by proactively complying with project specific instructions and guidelines, in addition to the CMIT policy and standards
•Keep all Business Application project and change to be in framework of IT CMIT Policy
•Support the decision making in vendor selection with the decision based argument
•Play the role of Project Manager in Business Application session
2. Manage the day to day Business Application System Activities (TOS & ERP, etc):
•Mainly responsibility for the highest availability of Business Application with SLA
•Take lead and direct participate in troubleshooting, supporting application incidents, end user requests.
•Monitor, plan and deliver the growth of Business System and Application requirements.
•Translate and implement all the initiates from management team and make sure all the application delivery to be always ready for future
•Provide recommendations for best-practice-sharing regarding IT solutions, incl. recommendations for usage in other APM Terminals/Regions.
•The position strives for continuous improvement in systems & processes in the function to make the outputs user friendly
3. Provide input to and ensure compliance with CMIT IT strategy, policy, standards and regulatory:
•Actively participate to the development of CMIT IT strategy, policy, and standards for infrastructure, platforms, and IS applications development
•Ensure compliance with IT strategy, policy and standards for the CMIT Terminals (including infrastructure, platforms, applications development, and security).
•The regulatory should be following to Vietnamese Law such as Application/ Software licenses, network & telecommunication rules
•Manage the Terminal Business System and Applications in accordance with CMIT policy and standards, including applicable security rules
•Ensure the information security in the Business Application, Authorization Structure, and System Access and ensure all confidentiality of works in CMIT should not be disclosed to any third-party for any purpose
•Read, acknowledge understanding, stay updated and set good example of compliance with the company’s policies stipulated in various regulations, guides and manuals including but not limited to the Staff Manual, IT Guideline, HSSE Manual, Letter of Authority, Anti-corruption policy etc
4. Team management:
•Share knowledge and expertise in order to prepare the internal successors ready for the incumbent’s position and other lower key positions in the section or department within the time frame of employment term.
•Coordinate and set goals and objectives for members of team to meet the objective of whole Business team
•Contribute to direct-report staff performance issue including the training, coaching, and discipline.
•Coordinate the team in efficient way to meet the IT Functional Department Requirement and Objectives
•Coordinate with local vendors for hardware and standard software in accordance with CMIT IT policy and standards
•Implement and ensure the SLA with all CMIT functions head and make agreement
•Make the yearly/project budget during the year
•The position is primarily single dimensional affecting directly on the IT Operation
•Contribute to the planning of the IT CAPEX and OPEX for Business System Area.

An outgoing and strong leader, with sense of responsibility and great customer service skills. The candidates must be qualified, decisive, results orientated as well as be able to work well under pressure.

The ideal candidates have:

•A University Degree in Computer Science, Business industry.
•At least 2-3 years working experiences in managerial position
•A complete and thorough understanding of Terminal Operation System, ERP systems & EDI messaging..
•Good knowledge of Business Intelligent (BI), Oracle and SQL, and Windows operating systems, with hands-on applications experience. Requires demonstrated proficiency with backup/recovery techniques.
•Good skills on managerial, problem solving, collaborating, organizing and experience of project management
•Microsoft SQL, Oracle certified professionals (MCDBA, OCA/OCP) will be preferred.
•Demonstrated ability and knowledge to troubleshoot a wide variety of database management problems as they arise in the workplace.
•The ability to logically manage problems of relatively high complexity.
•Multi-task oriented with proven ability to manage several activities simultaneously
•Experience of project management.
•Knowledge of international trading via shipping lines.
