Investment Senior Manager / Manager

Job Scope / Position Summary
In alignment with the group and regional investment guidelines as well as local regulations, the Investment Senior Manager / Manager supports development and execution of the investment strategies and optimizes the investment performance of GVL, in full alignment with the Group Investment Policy and Guidelines

Main Responsibility
1. Investment strategies and performance of GVL:
• Assist in developing and enhancing investment policies and strategies for GVL in accordance with the group and regional investment guidelines
• Support the company in optimizing the Strategic Asset Allocation of the GVL investment portfolio with the support of the Actuarial team
• Improve and assist in maximizing investment performance considering the relevant investment constraints and targets
• Interact with head office/ regional office in relation to investment matters
• Ensure alignment with applicable Group SAA and ALM function and guidelines
** Key Result Area: Building SAA/ investment strategies

2. Drive the implementation of the GVL investment strategies:
• Build and maintain relationship with banks and securities firms / brokerages
• Identify, analyze and evaluate potential investment opportunities available in the market
• Prepare investment recommendations and business proposals for senior management and/or Board approvals
• Implement investment decisions and execution of transaction documentation
• Assist in evaluation of prospective external fund managers, if applicable, and provide instruction and guidance to them

3. Monitor the performance of the investment activities
• Monitor the performance of investment portfolios and recommend necessary actions
• Prepare monthly and quarterly investment reports for management, investment committee, Regional Office and Head Office
• Share investment related information with other departments (actuarial, finance, retail)

4. Proactively support the business by:
• Provide advice to Product Development and Finance
• Participate in company projects
• Participate in presentations to key distributors, business partners and customers if required

5. Adhere to relevant local and Group compliance procedures and obtain satisfactory audit and regulators’ review reports. Ensure full compliance with Group Investment Policy

6. Other ad hoc tasks and projects assigned by the Head of Investments and management from time to time

Qualification and Experience Requirement
Education: University Degree and professional qualifications. CFA charter holder or progress towards CFA is preferred
Experience: At least 5 years of relevant investment experience, preferably at a life insurance company. Strong background in insurance is preferred.
Skills:
Fluent in English.
Strong communication skills
Ability to interact with various key internal and external stakeholders
