Interpreter

Employer: Animals Asia Foundation
Part-time post: 3 days/week
Location: Yok Don National Park, Buon Don district, Dak Lak province
Duration of Position: One-year contract (extendable)
Salary: US$300/month + benefits

* Key responsibilities
● Liaise with programme partner staff to ensure agreed management protocols are being carried out, and ensure effective evaluation and monitoring under the guidance of the AW Manager
● Provide translation & administrative support to animal welfare department staff and consultants
● Organise administrative activities related to the project when required
Additional responsibilities
● Maintain positive working relationships with programme partners and government agencies.
Animal welfare department c support
● Provide support to the AW Education Officer to deliver public education programmes if needed
Administration
● Contribute activities to the departmental working report
● Provide program background and working progress under request from other colleagues
Inter-department relations
● Support requests from other departments
● Ensure that inter-department and inter-personal relationships are positive, cohesive, and contribute to the overall mission of Animals Asia
● Develop and maintain effective working relationships regarding work procedures, employee relations and procurement related concerns
Continuous Improvement
● Contribute to the on-going review, development and implementation of changes to improve the productivity and efficiency of Animals Asia
● Participate in staff training and performance and development appraisal process to assist in the achievement of Animals Asia objectives and mission
Miscellaneous
● Promote and advocate Animals Asia to the public
● Follow established Animals Asia procedures and policies

* Qualification/ Education/ Knowledge
• Knowledge of animal welfare issues
• Degree in relevant subject or experience of working in an NGO

* Experience
• Experience of English translation/interpretation
• Excellent project management skills
• Experience of working with animal protection organisations in Vietnam

* Abilities/ Skills
• Excellent oral and written English language
• Ability to work in partnership with key stakeholders and sustain strategic partnerships with a calm and approachable manner
• Ability to plan & think strategically - experience of turning strategy into operational plans and effective action
• Good organizational skills in both operational and administrative areas
• Self-motivated and independent with ability to work under difficult conditions;
• Good communication skills, and attention to details
• Proficient skills of computer, social media and web-based applications
