Internal Auditor

*Overview
The Internal Auditor assists in providing internal and compliance audit coverage of Market and Investment Banking functions of the bank to determine that internal controls provide adequate safeguards, to ensure the business units’ general operating efficiency and compliance with laws, regulations, managerial policies, and generally accepted accounting principles.

This role requires the ability to work in a changeable business environment and to find out the risk issues by asking the right questions, being effective listeners and communicators, and providing creative solutions through targeted resources and technical expertise.

*Responsibilities
- Responsible for completing audits as assigned.
- Gather and analyze data, and report audit results in accordance with the Bank’s Audit Manual.
- Responsible for interviewing business unit staff as needed to gather relevant information to complete assignments.
- Communicate information, suggestions and/or problem issues regarding audit status and critical findings throughout the assignments to the Audit Director.
- Create all work papers to show what was completed, the procedures and methods used, and the conclusion or the results of the work performed in an organized manner.
- Support the efficient operation of the internal audit group as directed to expeditiously complete assignments.
- Submit recommendations for increasing or decreasing audit steps.
- Maintain the confidential nature of all work papers and information obtained during an audit.
- Keep abreast of changes to banking regulations and submit recommended revisions to corresponding compliance audit programs
- All other duties that may be assigned.

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Auditing, Banking and Finance, Business, Investment or related field.
- CIA, CFA, FRM, ACCA or CPA certification are preferable
- 3+ years of relevant experience in banking operation, risk management or internal/external audit in the financial service industry; other relevant experience may be considered
- Knowledge of various financial instruments, asset management, investment banking is preferable
- Knowledge and experience in Capital Markets specifically market risk management, liquidity risk management, counterparty credit risk management and securitization
- Demonstrated critical thinking skill, ability to have a big picture view while able to dive into details to identify root cause
- Ability to effectively present information to top management
- High degree of problem solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
