Information Security Officer

The Information Security Officer will be responsible for daily information security operation to maintain the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information at Fulbright University Vietnam.

The position’s duties and responsibilities include:
• Being responsible for managing security operations, policy implementation and maintenance
• Identifying IT risks associated with University’s business operations and take required measures to minimize these risks
• Designing continuity plan for IT services in cases of interruption (disaster)
• Delivering training programs on information security and privacy matters for
staff and students
• Monitoring and responding to information security alerts from systems
• Closely monitoring user activities and identifying any illegal, unethical or
improper conducts
• Supporting end users in information security matters and resolving information security incidents
• Conducting periodical information security reviews to ensure the compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements regarding information access, security and privacy.

Other duties
Contribute to team effort by welcoming new and different work requirements; explore new opportunities to enhance the services of the department; help others accomplish related job results as and where needed.

Education and experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Security/ Information Systems/ Computer Science or related past working experience.
• At least 3 years of experience in information technology/ security operation or related fields. (Applicable experience includes, but is not limited to, computer and network infrastructure, operating systems, information security governance and compliance, etc.)
• Experience in working in IT security, IT risk management in academic settings in desirable
• Professional certification (e.g. CISSP, CISA, CISM, etc.) is a plus
• Proven experience or certificates on Microsoft Azure, Office 365, or Salesforce is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Vietnamese
• Excellent critical thinking and problems solving skills
• Knowledge of information security standards (e.g. ISO27001, COBIT, etc.), Vietnam and international law/regulatory is preferred
