Hotel General Manager – Urgent

A rare opportunity is up for grabs! Sailing Club Leisure Group is now looking for a young and versatile General Manager with strong leadership capability and hospitality operation experience who is familiar with the boutique hotel industry to lead the project from development through operation. We are currently looking for a General Manager for a City Hotel.

The GM will be a brand ambassador who has a deep understanding of both local and international customers. We are looking for individuals that have a real passion for hospitality, ready for the next big challenge and are natural leaders with a proven record of success. The candidate must be willing to push boundaries, challenge the norms and take the guest experience to a whole new level. This is a hands-on position and the General Manager is required to attract and retain staff, maintain a cooperative relationship with team members and optimize staff productivity.

The primary focus will be day to day oversight and management of the Hotel pre-renovation, whilst planning of renovations for Grand Opening in the developing phase. Hotel experience in Asia is a must, preferable Vietnam. Candidate needs to be available to start immediately

Duties and responsibilities, but not limited to, include the following:
• Management Company’s Representative coordinating all of the pre-opening/renovation activities on hotel and coordinate with the construction team, the construction timeline and act as a liaison between hotel personnel, construction contractors.
• Assisting overseeing and managing all on site activities at hotel properties, including scope development, identifying and managing designers, as well as consultants, and contractors.
• Project management including research of equipment, materials, supplies and methods, sourcing and negotiating qualified Supplier or contractors' bids, reviewing contracts, and quality control during all stages of the project.
• Develop long and short range plans for the operation of the site. Ensure the plans, once approved, are properly executed. Ensure operational standards are communicated, trained, and maintained.
• Assist and coordinate timely budget and forecasts regarding, but not limited to business levels, financial requirements, personnel needs and organization plans needed to support the resort operations.
• Oversee the operations functions of the hotel, as per the Organizational chart.
• Hold regular briefings and meetings with all head of departments.
• Ensure full compliance to Hotel operating controls, SOP’s, policies, procedures and service standards.
• Lead all key property issues including capital projects, customer service and refurbishment.
• Handling complaints and oversee the service recovery procedures.
• Responsible for the preparation, presentation and subsequent achievement of the hotel's annual Operating Budget, Marketing & Sales Plan.
• Manage on-going profitability of the hotel, ensuring revenue and guest satisfaction targets are met and exceeded.
• Ensure all decisions are made in the best interest of the hotels and management.
• Deliver hotel budget goals and set other short and long term strategic goals for the property.
• Developing improvement actions, carry out costs savings.
• A strong understanding of P&L statements and the ability to react with impactful strategies
• Ensure that monthly financial outlooks for Rooms, Food & Beverage, Admin & General, on target and accurate.
• Maximizing room yield and hotels revenue through innovative sales practices and yield management programs.
• Helping in the procurement of operating supplies and equipment and contracting with third-party vendors for essential equipment and services.
• Coordination with HOD's for the execution of all activities and functions.
• Overseeing and managing all departments and working closely with department heads on a daily basis.
• Manage and develop the Hotel Executive team to ensure career progression and development.
• Be accountable for responsibilities of department heads and take ownership of all guest complaints.
• Provide effective leadership to hotel team members.
• Respond to audits to ensure continual improvement is achieved.
• Responsible for safeguarding the quality of operations both (internal & external audits).
• Responsible for legalization, Occupational Health & Safety Act, fire regulations and other legal requirements.

Hospitality accreditation
> 5+ Years of experience in a related position
> Pre-opening or renovation experience
> Asian experience of over 2 years of a Hotel, preferable City Hotel
> Ability to communicate in English effectively both written and verbally
> Individual must possess a good work history and stability
> Demonstrate ability to lead by example with a participative management style
> Ability to inspire, train, and develop people for promotion
