Head of Engineering – Blacktree

Blacktree is a global private equity and venture capital investment company. To kick off one of its fully funded start-ups, Blacktree is looking for an experienced professional to fill in the role of Head of Engineering to build and lead the engineering team in a brand-new company located in HCMC. The team will build an e-commerce exchange platform backed by top IT and operation founders. As a key role in the project, the Head of Engineering has the potential to build the largest exchange platform in the sector and enjoy the executive team benefits.

The Head of Engineering will report to the CEO of Blacktree directly and responsible for promoting excellence in all engineering disciplines inclusive of project architect, application development, product delivery, quality assurance, analytics, machine learning, algorithms, and data management.

** Responsibilities
• Design the system architecture and develop the best exchange platform from scratch;
• Build and manage the engineering teams to execute the project against delivery commitment and project planning;
• Provide technical guidance and directions, code reviews and optimizations;
• Establish and maintain a best-in-class engineering environment;
• Liaise with other departments to understand functional and business requirements and align with the business strategy;
• Facilitate technology and methodology decision making throughout the team, including standardization, code reuse, agile development, best practice, source control, automation and deployment processes;
• Ensure that all tasks are delivered on-time, within the scope and within budget;
• Participate in executive decision making

• BS/MS in Computer Science, engineering, or related fields;
• 05+ years of software development with deep knowledge of web/service/mobile technologies;
• Experienced with building and managing a team of talents;
• A strong sense for code quality and experience with unit and functional tests;
• Proficient with developing large-scale e-commerce platforms;
• Ability to self-manage and work autonomously;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English;
• Entrepreneur experience and motivated working spirit is a must.
