Head of Corporate Affairs and Communications

This position is responsible for anticipating and shaping changes in the Operating Environment in the market, which create commercial risk and competitive opportunity for the company, by developing and implementing strategies and programs which shape the Operating Environment in a responsible, proactive manner; participating in the development of the market’s business strategy, and in all key business decisions taken by the market Excom. Also be responsible for working collaboratively with Regional Corporate Development as well as Business Development and legal in addition to other functions from time to time.

o The incumbent is responsible for working with local JTI Excom and Regional CA to develop JTI Vietnam's CA strategy and programs. This includes preparing global JTI positions for local application, implementing JTI global and regional initiatives as appropriate in the market and developing/implementing CA&C programs in order to further JTI's businesses and/or relationships with stakeholders. In line with this, the incumbent is responsible for managing the timing and budgets of all related projects, as well as any suppliers providing related services.

o Responsible for Tobacco and Reduce Risk Product (RRP) regulatory monitoring and update, including but not limited to working with government industries, Vinataba, Vietnam Tobacco Association (VTA), Vietnam Tax Consultants Association (VTCA) and suppliers to understand what legislation is being discussed and monitoring the progress of all initiatives. This includes identifying specific legislation that impacts JTI's business and working with other stakeholders to develop engagement and defense plans as appropriate.

o The incumbent is responsible for managing stakeholder engagements including Vinataba, VTA, competitive tobacco companies, government agencies and the media. These engagements are to be planned and implemented in line with corporate objectives and to address management of regulatory and other corporate affairs issues. Responsible to support Regional Business Development in stakeholder engagement related to future Vinataba privatization (Commission
for the Management of State Capital at Enterprises (CMSC), Vinataba, The Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT), Ministry of Finance (MOF),...).

o Be the project owner of the on-going e-newsletter and e-bulletin to gradually improve the internal communication channel which is seen as a heart-connecting channel between JTI and distributors to keep everyone updated on business objectives/directions/initiatives/people development etc.. and things changed in JTI in general.

o Aligning the strategic messages and working with the Heads of Departments to ensure the appropriate messages are conveyed whilst overseeing the editorial content.

o The incumbent is responsible for all CA&C communications. Ensuring that the local Excom and Regional management is kept apprised of the regulatory, tax, CP and media relationships or issues.

o The incumbent is responsible for all corporate communications initiatives for both internal and external audiences. This includes global initiatives for internal and external stakeholders, corporate philanthropy initiatives and management of external media relations.

o Responsible for supporting business including packaging, product development and promotional activity planning. Work in close relation with Legal in assisting in the evaluation of applicable regulations, laws and local practices and identifying and/or managing any resulting issues, including seeking the advice of outside parties such as the MOIT or MOSC. In this role, the incumbent will be expected to attempt to find solutions that match business needs with
the requirements of the Vietnamese law working with stakeholders in a positive and proactive way.

o Act as a JTI ambassador whilst initiating Community Investment projects that fit our Global guidelines as well as furthering the JTI corporate image and managing the budget appropriately. Developing relationships with key JTI partners better understand society needs, social direction and how to strategically link with a commercial perspective to best suit JTI in future engagements with key stakeholders.
Leveraging the CI projects to engage the local employees and encouraging opportunities to participate and developing the relevant communication strategy to highlight their efforts.

o Bachelor degree is required, preferably in Business Administration, Social Sciences or Foreign
Trade.
o At least 3 years of experience in Corporate Affairs and Government relations, preferably in
foreign invested companies.
o Good knowledge of Vietnam legislative system is an advantage.
o Having a business relationship with the Government competent authorities in Central and
HCMC local Government is an advantage.
o Fluent Vietnamese and English.
o Good at MS Office.
