Global Sourcing & Project Engineering Coodinator

Our company seeks a dedicated, professional and trustworthy individual to assist with our Global sourcing, engineering and manufacturing activities. This person must be willing to work hard to locate and secure sources of supply throughout Vietnam & South East Asia, conduct supplier survey’s & audits, review and negotiate supplier quotations & contracts as well as provide effective communication through the development of project and production reporting for clients and Sr. management. The position will be based out of our Da Nang, Vietnam office with occasional travel within South East Asia visiting our manufacturing facilities and suppliers.

This position reports to the Director of Asian Operations

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Locate, pre-qualify and secure new sources of supply through various means; Internet, trade shows, publications, networking.
• Preparation and submission of production RFQ’s to support supplier quotations.
• Assist the Operations manager in following up supplier quotations, completing product cost/sell summaries and client quotations.
• Assist engineering in tracking product sample schedules.
• Responsible communication and support to suppliers, clients, engineering, production and management.
• Preparation and submission of project & production management reports to clients and Sr. Management.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years experience in supplier sourcing; locating sources of supply who can produce mechanical, electrical, electro-mechanical parts, products and assemblies.
• Proficient at using computers and internet search engines to locate sources of supply and products.
• Minimum of 2 years of project & production management and reporting.
• Educated as a Mechanical or Electrical Engineer or related experience with the ability to read and understand part drawings, schematics, BOMs and product requirements.
• Understanding of the manufacturing principles of plastic injection molding, castings, metal stampings & fabrication, machining, extrusions, PCB/PCBA and contract product assembly.
• Disciplined, self-directed, task and detail oriented.
• Good interpersonal skills and professional demeanor.
• Proficient and timely communicator in written and spoken English.
• Ability to work independently and faithfully.
