Geotechnical Engineer (Land Reclamation Department)

- Set-up on site laboratory for land reclamation materials and investigate the various components of earth materials to determine their engineering properties
- Preparation of geotechnical calculations
- Preparation of lab test result reports with conclusions
- Assist in the preparation of regularly scheduled (adjusted master) feasibility studies, planning for land reclamation, reports and updates (ad hoc, daily, weekly, monthly, annual, …)
- Exploring land reclamation material sources
- Monitor site conditions
- Review the project needs and assess risks posed by site conditions, including materials assessment, design research and structural analysis, and complete risk assessment
- Verify and control critical path and interfaces between design/engineering/procurement/execution
- Coordination with site engineers and report on the status of the project progress against the land reclamation plan schedule, and provide corrective actions necessary if the planned schedule is not achieved
- Support in preparation of basic and detailed design for land reclamation, and coordination with design consultant
- Preparation of monthly and annual land reclamation planning: surface (m2), volume (m3) and cost
- Assistance in preparation of tender packages for land reclamation
- Provide planning and cost controlling support for the projects which includes input for monthly/annual investment plan, etc.
- Knowledge of design standards, lab test procedures and permits for land reclamation projects (incl. environmental regulations)
- Coordinate and work with the in-house project management team to resolve project issues to ensure the delivery/completion of the project work
- Strong focus on continuous improvement plan
- Comply and achieve assigned KPI’s
- External and internal coordination to handle requests and queries from the department manager and BOD

- Degree of geotechnical engineer of senior level with a minimum of at least five (05) years experience in a similar role
- Knowledge and experience with land reclamation works (incl. dykes)
- Good knowledge of engineering/design scope for land reclamation projects, job working instruction/procedures, good project control practices in planning and scheduling and overall awareness of project
- Proficiency in MS Office (MS Project, MS excel, MS word, in particular)
- Use specialized computer software
- Environmental friendly mindset
- Knowledge of Autocad is an added value
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (Vietnamese and English)
- Good time management and the ability to prioritize work to meet deadlines
- Proactive, self-motivated, strong initiative, analytical mind set and problem solving attitude
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills and meticulous
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
- Good report writing abilities
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
- Possess good project background and technical writing ability and skills
- Ability to work independently and in working team
- Work location at 9th floor Harbour View Office Tower, No. 12 Tran Phu, Ngo Quyen, Haiphong (average 1/5), and Deep C Haiphong and Quang Ninh sites (average 4/5)
