General Manager

* We are looking for an experienced General Manager at bag factory with overall responsibility for the management and production and of our bag designs

* Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
• Managing ongoing production with workshop and suppliers, ensuring deliveries are on time and that product quality meets company’s standards.
• Overseeing the different departments involved in production
• Coordinating with our logistics department for the import of materials and exports of finish products
• Dealing, and planning for capacity and for fluctuations in production requirements for customers’ orders.
• Setting targets for production
• Ensure production budgets are set and achieved by controlling production costs and material consumption
• Overseeing the relationship with our quality control departments, determining quality control standards and ensuring that the highest quality is maintained
• Leading on product development and liaising with the design team to progress new styles and designs
• Using technical knowledge and experience to enable design ideas to transfer into production
• Expense management and liaison with finance team to improve overall company profitability
• Ongoing assessment of existing suppliers and sourcing new suppliers, ensuring high CSR standards are met
• Coordinate good communication with US headquarters

The Ideal Candidate
• Good communication skills in written and spoken English
• Experience and technical knowledge of bags, garment or shoe production
• Engineering background and qualification
• Comfortable with both Engineering issues and Budgeting
• Practical knowledge of bags design and manufacturing
• Experience with productivity incentive system
• Experience of establishing a bag production facility
