Garment Specialist/ Garment Technician

** Key Purpose of the Job:

- To provide technical advice throughout the product development and engineering process to design/development team, factory and QA

- To work with vendor and QA to ensure commercialized samples and production, conform to VF/TBL required quality, construction and performance standards

** Key Area of Responsibility:

1. Product Standards
- Support factory and local QA/QC team to understand VF/TBL SOP and product standards in terms of quality, construction and performance
- To identify if there is any risk of factory not achieving required standards, or if there are additional standards/SOP needed

2. Product Development, Commercialization and Approval
- Support factory to understand tech pack and sample development requirements
- Provide technical input during development to facilitate cost effective product commercialization
- Ensure samples are engineered to meet required standards and maximize production efficiency
- Raise out concern about factories capability to deliver against product spec
- Lead in-factory development meetings to ensure efficient use of time, resource, and maximize skill of attendees
- Understand results of product related testing and support with technical input, to eliminate risk in advance of bulk production
- When necessary review jump size set or nest pattern to ensure factory is grading as per TBL requirements
- To seal SMS/PP sample for bulk production

3. SMS and Bulk Production
- Provide appropriate support to factory and local QA/QC so they can independently execute SMS and bulk production, to meet the requirements agreed during commercialization process
- To help resolve any Quality issue’s identified during production, then support QE to investigate root cause and identify corrective action for future

4. Relationships
- To build trusting and collaborative relationship with key teams across the business.
Internal; EU Design/Developers, HK Merchandisers, Product Stewardship team and VFA/TBL QA/QC. Vendors; Sample/Technical Room, Pattern dpt, QA team and Production management

5. Communication
- To be proactive, effective and timely when communicating with all personnel
- To provide timely decisions to vendor to avoid potential delay or inaccuracy in sample making or production

2. Able to work independently and manage time well
3. 3-5 years experience in relevant positions.
4. MUST fluently in English.

9. Good attention to detail
10. Good problem solving skills

** Other Requirements:
- Product development and production experience of cut and sew woven / seam sealing outerwear / knit is essential
- Experience or knowledge in pattern cutting/adjustment, grading and fit is beneficial
- Experience working as part of a global, cross region, or cross functional team is beneficial
