Full Stack Developer

1. Software development
• Develop cloud, back-end and front-end software features in accordance with direction provided by the team Lead Developer
• Work to agreed DevOps processes for code development, test and deployment
• Apply principles of Continuous Integration during the development process
• Other duties as required

2. Planning and reporting
• Actively participate in periodic work planning sessions, providing input in to the plan for the next development iteration
• Provide regular verbal and other updates as required on work progress to the Lead Developer
• Demonstrate when required the features developed to the rest of the team

3. Technology innovation
• Maintain up to date understanding of relevant technologies (e.g. cloud computing, Internet of Things and web-based front end frameworks)
• Consider how emerging technologies can improve the product under development.

A Bachelor or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline

TECHNICAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
• 2+ years’ experience developing cloud computing solutions (AWS highly desirable)
• Development experience of some or all of the following: Messaging Frameworks, Internet of Things (IoT), MQTT, Grafana, Influxdb, NiFi, Kafka, Docker, Serverless functions (e.g. AWS Lamda)
• Competency in Java, NodeJs, React, SQL
• Java skills which include: Multithreading, Stream Processing, XML, Rest, CRUD, Packaging
• Experience with Build Tools such as Maven/ Gradle
• Experience with DevOps Tools such as Git, Agile, Continuous Integration & Deployment and Ansible/ Serverless deployment
• Maritime/ shipping domain experience or other analogous industries
