Footwear Manufacturing Engineer (North Vietnam)

Job Summary:

- To be responsible for the upper and tooling engineering coordination of new footwear products working with the developer from receipt of tech package from the Final adopt review stage through commercialization T2/T4 and initial 2 weeks production for North VN factories.
- Maintains connectivity with the product through the initial production phase and initiates the QC standard for your factory.

Responsibilities:

- Keep contact with China LO Dev to review CCL reports and provide cross checked testing reports for Materials and Products.
- Sample PO’s: Ensure my factory Samples are made to acceptable quality standards following correct technical levels as given in China SOP’s and Making any process revisions needed to reduce waste and costs. 
- Attending T1 handoffs in Vietnam to update key features and provide an Engineering report if needed.
- Contact China Dev and Product Engineering team to get updated SOP, PFC and Specs for my factory.
- Support OM by Monitoring and collecting information on different machinery in VN factories to help improve efficiency / productivity and consistency with dual sourced product.
- Attend if my factory runs first Trials for New and Key Products and make engineering input report. 
- Be able to support the product development team during initial stages of development and work with factory pattern and tooling engineers in converting initial design renderings into successful and profitably commercialized product including working with local last makers during new last development. 
- Review blue prints and other drawings to ensure accuracy and functionality of mould details and review wooden models for VN factories and upper patterns for my factory to ensure design integrity all in cooperation with Asia Development Team.
- Be able to review the engineering information, ensure its accuracy and take part in meetings when key engineering subjects are under review.
- Continue to increase your knowledge and become able to demonstrate an awareness of and engage in all phases of the Columbia product process. Be able to support the development team in ensuring that projects are proven and tested, completed on time, are manufactural, meet design intent, performance, costing and sustainability goals. 
- Constantly review and evaluate the project status with managers and keep them continually in the loop regarding issues which may take the project outside of its predetermined track.

- Bachelor’s degree in a technical, engineering, or industrial design field, 8+ year experience in footwear engineering or product creation.
- Competent in the principles of development, pattern engineering, costing, quality implications, model making, part drawings, and manufacturing processes.
- Project management skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Demonstrated skill in problem solving and results orientation.
