Financial Controller

1. POSITION & PURPOSE

Reporting to the General Director of Rheem Vietnam, this position is accountable for all Finance and Information System functions. The role must ensure accurate and timely financial information is provided that is in compliance with Rheem company guidelines, Statutory and Taxation procedures and policies, including relevant Vietnam reporting and accounting requirements.


2. NATURE & SCOPE

Rheem Vietnam is a subsidiary of Rheem Australia and was established in January 2013. The Company manufactures and exports a range of hot water heater systems, solar collectors and kits for consumers in Vietnam, other ASEAN countries, Australia/New Zealand and United States.

The Financial Controller is a key member of the Rheem Vietnam management team with participation in the development and implementation of strategies to achieve superior, sustainable business outcomes. This role works closely with the General Director providing administrative and management support across the business along with supporting the Sales department in growing local, regional Asia and international sales.

The Financial Controller must have the desire, energy and “smarts” to act as a “champion” to lead business analysis, interrogating information and providing insight and analysis to the General Director and Australian management for better decision making.

The Financial Controller must have strong financial and statutory reporting skills, detail knowledge of Vietnam tax matters, very strong excel and data manipulations skills and ‘hands-on’ management skills. The Financial Controller must be strong on systems, and equally confident working with a junior accountant and equally capable of addressing information to the General Director or presenting to overseas management.

The Financial Controller will build relationships with the Rheem Group operations, drive and deliver the budgeting, forecasting and planning of the growing business providing broad based support and insight to the local management team undertaking the responsibility to ensure information and data provided is not only accurate but will also deliver value to help the business focus in the most effective areas.

As the only Rheem business unit in Vietnam, this role is autonomous and the person must have advance technical accounting skills and represent the Company’s investment interests to Local and National Governments. As a member of the Rheem Vietnam finance team, the incumbent must ensure the financial and commercial processes of the Company are followed, supporting line management by way of providing policy & procedures and specialist advice. Close working relationships with other departmental heads is essential to ensure that management requirements are met and that consistency across the company is achieved.

The organisation is expected to grow over the coming years and all Finance functions will need to keep up with this growth, especially in the local Vietnamese market.

3. RESPONSIBILITIES & AUTHORITIES

Responsibilities
• Ensure that all statutory and management accounts are prepared accurately and in a timely manner. This includes budgets, forecasting, preparation of statutory accounts, monthly management reports, and profit centre analysis.
• Balance Sheet management including asset utilization management and working capital management in particular stock control and debtors management.
• Contribution to effective management control of the business by establishing and maintaining appropriate information and reporting systems.
• Ensure appropriate accounting standards and accurate product costings are maintained through constant review of operations.
• Ensure the company’s stock records are accurately maintained.
• Actively management of the business cash flow.
• Establishment and implementation of accounting software and IT systems, including continued management and maintenance activities.
• Provide information as required to Rheem Australia and United States.
• Support the profitable growth of the company by active participation in quality improvement processes, including the implementation and support of the ISO9001 Quality System.

4. QUALIFICATION EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
• Relevant tertiary qualifications, min Degree level and preferable post graduate qualifications.
• Minimum 7 years Finance management/leadership experience.
• Fluent in English
• Experience in all taxation matters and management accounting reporting
• Sound administration, organization and computer literacy skills.
• An interest in developing & implementing organization development and culture change programs.
• A strong ability to relate to all levels from shop floor to senior management.
• Experience is manufacturing accounting/analysis.
• Sound interpersonal, influencing, communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to set an objective, develop a plan and diligently implement.
