Finance Manager - Cashew

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Finance Manager, you will have the below as your major objectives:
1. Ensure accurate financial reporting.
2. Ensure relevant controls are implemented over inventory, processing and sales contracts
3. Working with the Vietnam Chief Accountant to ensure all local statutory and Group reporting requirements are adhered to for cashew operations
4. To provide financial information for Vietnam cashew.
5. To maintain a minimum exposure on currency and stock within approved limits.
6. Develop relevant dashboards as per the business requirements
7. Partnership with Business heads and Traders to ensure smooth running of the operations

The key responsibilities include:

• Supervises subordinate personnel in accounts receivable and accounts payable areas of a finance department including Upcountry accountants
• Oversees, monitors and works to implement accounting procedures, internal controls and database management for cashew;
• Audits work flow to ensure that all accounting transactions are processed accurately and in compliance with industry standards;
• Reviews and justifies expense reports and other expenditures;
• Preparation of monthly journal entries;
• Prepares financial statements for cashew division;
• Helps maintain accountability of the financial resources of a company;
• Handles personally or supervises general ledger reconciliations;
• Ensures compliance with all internal controls;
• Trains staff on proper company procedures;
• Assists Vietnam Chief Accountant and with a variety of tasks as needed;
• Reviews monthly closing processes;
• Handles special projects as requested by Management;
• Assists Chief Accountant with the preparation of the yearly audit;
• Assists in safeguarding the assets of investors;
• Stays current on changes in regulations and other industry news;
• Maximizes return, and limits risk, on cash by minimizing bank balances overdrawn, maintaining exposure limits;
• With Chief Accountant on avenues for hedging against FX fluctuations
• Provides status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data;
• Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
• Regular visit to our Upcountry businesses to validate systems and controls
• Budgeting and Control
• Business Partnership with relevant stakeholders
• Strengthening Controls system by regular Monitoring of customer balances, Stock positions in Upcountry locations etc
• Ensuring process goods costing is accurate and tracks out turn reports across all the processing factories.
• Ensures out turn report is shared with Management on daily basis by liaising with relevant Ops managers.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Chartered Accountant. Master’s degree in accounting, finance or business administration will be an added advantage.
• Minimum of 5 years post qualification experience of which at least 2 years in a lead role
• Management reporting experience
• Willing to travel into rural areas to understand and monitor our business
• Hands on and adaptable to a multi-cultural environment
• Displays vast knowledge of math and exceptional accounting skills.
• Possesses strong leadership, supervisory and management abilities.
• Has excellent critical thinking as well as analytical skills.
• Exhibits strong computer skills and knowledge of relevant technology.
• Demonstrates extensive knowledge of financial software programs.
• Possesses exceptional organizational skills and is an effective time manager and multi-tasker.
• Displays the ability to pay close attention to detail.
• Demonstrates good interpersonal skills along with excellent verbal and written communication skills;
• Has a working knowledge acceptable accounting practices and financial accounting standards;
• Risk management experience
• Experience of commodities, agriculture or Cashew processing/FMCG will be an added advantage.
