Finance Controller, Vietnam (VIE-FIN-0053)

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING AND WHY
This role is accountable and responsible for the financial controllership for British Council Vietnam which includes a branch and a subsidiary. The role provides the management and leadership for financial process, control and compliance.

This role manages the end to end accounting process across the operation on behalf of the Regional Finance Director, including month and year end close, and ensures consistent, accurate and robust financial accounting processes and reporting in line with accounting practices and corporate policies, and local statutory, accounting and tax compliance regulations. This role supports the Country Directors and the subsidiaries’ local Board of Directors in finance related functions and business matters. This is a key role in the new organisational structure emerging from the Financial Transparency recommendations.

WHAT IS INTERESTING ABOUT IT
You will have opportunities to maintain a sound working knowledge of major developments, issues and stakeholders within the specific area of subject or sector expertise to build professional credibility, confidence and market insight. You will represent the British Council at specific subject/sector-related events to ensure appropriate support is given to partners and other stakeholders and you will have the opportunity to work with the Global and Regional Team.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
You should be a Qualified Accountant from ACCA or CFA with at least three years of experience post-qualification and ten years of working experience in related field. You will need to have minimum three years of qualified experience in a managerial post and managing a diverse team or a group of stakeholders in multiple locations.
