To embed financial thinking in daily decision making and drive company’ expenditures and VONB to be financially successful through:

• Business analysis
• Support for company projects and initiatives
• Control the expense budgeting process and forecast
• Manage expense

*** Roles and Responsibilities
1. Take a finance business partner role
• Play as a financial adviser
• Embed financial thinking in partners’ daily process
• Coordinate with relevant departments to perform regular expense review and comment
• Understand business requirement and apply flexible budget control
• Update management any alarming expense and recommend way to control
• Perform special review on issues
2. Business analysis
• Regular and ad hoc investigations of company performance
• Budget analysis: review budget from different perspectives
• Expense analysis and make recommendations to management the solution when appropriate. Financial modelling may be required where it is applicable
• Other analysis to be requested by management
3. Support for company projects and initiatives
• Review and recommend when it is applicable new initiatives, especially with expense and cost control area
• Company project: support new initiatives from various departments and company’s key projects, proactively provide feedback before, during and after projects
4. Control the expense budgeting process and forecast
• Ensure the department expense budget provide appropriate resources for strategic initiatives at the same time reflecting reasonable savings in areas where this is possible
• Make frequent expense forecast
5. Manage expense
• Provide regular and ad-hoc expense reports including variance analysis related to your partner functions, highlighting areas of concerns/attentions and follow up with relevant departments for proper actions
• Monitor and report expense overruns including recommended actions to management
• Regular monitoring of significant expenses (contest, rental, headcount, advertising, etc)
• Monitor the expense within the loading allowance
6. Others
• Verify the expense proposals from in-charge department
• Owner of the department’s P&L (Revenue and Expenses) and budget
• Interact with Departments, Finance/Actuary and other Finance partners for comprehensive solutions/Analysis for business needs
• To be an expert of the department/channel in term of business and market intelligence
• Actively alert management for risks and other negative/positive trends
• Keep track of a data set to justify in-charge department’s proposals/ situation
• Ensure accruals and expenses are timely recognized , optimized and sufficient
• Ensure the comprehensiveness/Correctness of expense and performance reporting
• Facilitates annual bottom up expense budgeting/forecasting of in-charge department
• Ad hoc analysis and examination of departments/channel performance
• Ensure the analytical needs are reflected through entries booking of Finance Operation
• 3 ways matching and tracking of key project expenses
• Ensure the correctness of each expense lines/accounts with justification to expense’s nature and accounting practice to present a true and fair picture of company’s position
• QMR and other monthly reporting to Actuary and Reporting team
• Other annual budgeting reports
• Ad hoc reports for internal and external stakeholders

*** Job Requirements:
• Strong ability to apply logical and critical thinking to resolve problems, strong analytical
• Propensity to plan strategically yet be able to adapt quickly to reality
• Strong numerical, written and verbal communication skills, excellent spoken
• Ability to build trust and rapport with all levels of the organization
• Degree qualified, with a relevant professional qualification (ACCA, CFA)
• 2 years of experience and above in financial services/banking, investment and consulting are preferred
• Keen to learn and develop yourself into new areas of knowledge and responsibilities, keen to add value to the company and business partners.
• Big 4 or investment firm experience is an advantage
• Financial modelling skills and prior experience with compensation design for sale force is preferred
• SAP familiarity is an advantage
