Fashion Designer

Primary Purpose: The Designer will work with Design Director, development and production team to initiate concepts each season that are fashion driven, reflective of the creative vision and TheBlueTshirt aesthetic. You will be a part of a dynamic, creative environment where you will collaborate with talented designers and cross-functional partners in the business.

The successful individual will leverage their proficiency in Design to:
• Partner with Design Director to research and establish the trends that will define the new season, working on moodboards and inspiration.
• Partner with Design Director to create sketches and product prototypes throughout the mood of each season.
• Outsourcing fabrics, hardwares, fasteners and other materials.
• Create design flats, pattern layouts, tech packs, embellishment artworks using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
• Create technical forms and you will have to coordinate with our in house pattern maker and sample-makers to create the first prototype.
• Maintain and track all designs lifecycle with production team and production vendors.
• Build and update design presentation boards and assist in meetings and fittings.

• Must possess a strong fashion sense and have the ability to interpret trends
• Excellent interpersonal, communication skills with the ability to interact with other team members and vendors.
• Excellent organizational skills with immense attention to detail and follow-up
• Must be flexible with the ability to self-manage and handle multiple priorities at once
• Must be a collaborative, team player with great initiative
• Available to work full time

* It would be a plus if you have:
• Interest in Contemporary Culture: Fashion, Design, Photography and Art
• Digital portfolio of your projects (PDF, tumblr, blog, web,…)

* An outstanding professional will have:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Design or related field
• 0-2 years experience designing Womenswear
• Ability to build Tech Pack & Artwork of embellishment
• Ability to sketch both technical drawings and freeform renderings
• Knowledge of garment construction, including pattern making, sewing and draping
• Proven ability to sketch, spec, communicate silhouette and ideas clearly
• Understanding of materials required
• Strong working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and Microsoft Word.
