Environment, Health and Safety (Senior Officer)

ROLE SUMMARY:
As part of setting up our new business expansion, this role is newly created to ensure our facility complies with all current environmental and safety regulations in Vietnam. The main responsibility of the role is to provide Industrial (Occupational) Hygiene, Safety & Environmental assistance to site management in the prevention of occupational injuries/illnesses, possible regulations breaches (and mitigate any associated risk). Initially, the role of Environment, Health and Safety officer will be dedicated to Tay Ninh site, however the scope may extend to multiple sites support in the future, should the need arise.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serve as primary contact person with regulatory agencies (e.g. Environmental Impact Evaluation Bureau, OSHA etc.)
- Work to develop, implement and monitor environmental and safety programs, policies, and procedures
- Provide consultation, communication and training to increase awareness and competence on environment, health and safety in the workplace
- Evaluate the facility’s procedures and equipment to identify compliance with environmental regulations, policies and unsafe conditions needing improvement
- Identify and evaluate harmful working conditions and adjust safeguard and safety measures
- Monitor and assist in Operational Control and Emergency Preparedness & Response
- Assist in applying for relevant environment, health and safety permit registrations
- Coordinate and conduct periodic environment, health and safety audits
- Involve in accident investigations, root cause analysis and corrective action
- Maintain records (and reports submission to related governmental agencies) and interface with regulatory inspectors

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- BS Degree is required, major in Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene or Environmental Engineering is strongly preferred, or Engineering or other science related degrees
- 5+ years of EHS related experience in the power plant, specialty solar power plant and/or manufacturing plant
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) is preferable
- Prior experience EHS requirements and compliance policies/programs planning and implementation
- Expert knowledge in in Vietnam and International EHS regulations
- Fluent in English and Vietnamese (spoken and written)
