Engineering Manager – Preferably Living in Binh Duong

This position is accountable for all Engineering and Maintenance functions within Rheem Vietnam

• Develop and maintain a team based environment in which to manage the engineering requirements by providing leadership and coaching to team members and subordinates.
• Actively develop links between the Department leaders to maximise the use of working capital resources by the Manufacturing Department.
• To provide advice to the Departments and/or management on issues of an engineering nature and investigate production, equipment and process problems.
• Work closely with Materials, Finance, R&D and Operations personnel to reduce the material costs in existing products.
• Work closely with the Quality Manager to help reduce market quality issues. Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of product non-conformance.
• Work closely with supervision to drive internal ‘Not Right First Time’ improvements.
• Develop and implement the required processing methods, work instructions and time standards.
• Develop and maintain effective manufacturing Information Systems for the monitoring of KPI’s and for the effective planning and processing of manufacturing orders.
• Generate, submit and implement Expenditure Requests for capital projects. Accountable for accurate CAPEX information, and declared investment returns.
• In co-operation with employee representatives, OHS Manager, Operations Engineers and the Quality Manager, ensure that facilities, equipment and methods implemented are of the highest safety and quality standard.
• Manage and implement preventative maintenance computer data system.
• Coordinate the Engineering & Maintenance budget to achieve the budget, on a monthly basis.
• Support the cost reduction program in Vietnam and providing support to other parts of Rheem Australia group.

• Engineering discipline, preferably a Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering degree.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing techniques.
• Experience in the Water Heater Industry, Welding, Polyurethane Foaming, or similar industries would be preferred.
• Knowledge of Project Management tools.
• Knowledge of Business Law, Occupational Safety and Health regulations, and relevant Standards.
• 7 -10 years minimum experience in manufacturing operations with exposure to shop floor management, production planning, budgeting, trouble shooting, process and layout improvement, lean manufacturing techniques, and management of capital projects.
• Speak English and good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, Autocad, FlowCharting and other simulation software, Microsoft Project.
