Emergency System Engineer

JOB PURPOSE:
• To provide an assurance to the readiness and smooth operations of the emergency system including the Fire Fighting system and services at NCSP sites through monitoring Prevention Maintenance Routine system and service contractor.
• To manage the NCSP Emergency Response Plan including the review of its validity and conduct periodical practice exercises.


KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• To be in-charge of design, operations and maintenance of the firefighting system (foam system, fire ring main, /pumping system, fire truck and fire smoke detector system including the related process of Prevention Maintenance Routine program, modifications (Facilities Change Process) and operations at NCSP sites.
• To provide the assurance of the compliance with legal and standards of the firefighting system.
• To ensure the approvals from local authorities for the firefighting system designs and modifications.
• To ensure related procedures are reviewed and validated such as the Incident Management Plan , Oil/Chemical Spill Response Plan;
• To support the Firefighting Team Leader to ensure the readiness of the firefighting system at any time.

COMPETENCIES

Core competencies :
• Mechanical or Electrical & Instrument engineering
• Good communication skills; team player
• Good influencing and challenging skills

Technical competencies :
• Strong knowledge and experience of fire fighting
• Good planning and English writing skills (Upper Intermediate level)
• Good understanding of hazards associated with Operation Activities and control measures being applied.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Educational background: University degree (major in Mechanical or Electrical & Instrument Engineering. Mechanical background will be a privilege)

Experience: At least 3 years working experience in firefighting at site.
