Electrical Design Engineer

The Head Office and Transformer Factories are located in Hanoi, High Voltage and Medium Voltage Power Product factories are in Bac Ninh, other branch offices are in Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City.

ABB’s Power Grid division delivers products, systems, services and software solutions. The products mainly include high voltage products, transformers, grid system and grid automation. The major customers are power value chain serving utility, industry, transportation and infrastructure.

ABB Vietnam currently has an opportunity for an Electrical Design Engineer who would be responsible for high quality design and engineering solutions as per customer requirement within allocated budget. Joining our team in Hanoi office and reporting to Design Engineering Manager, your key areas of responsibility will include, but are not limited to:

• Prepare electrical design and related documents as per customer specification and technicality as per agreed timelines.
• Issue the designs for customer comments and resolve the problems as per specifications required.
• Cooperate and coordinate with production and quality team to resolve issues and improve design quality.
• Ensure timely release of the BOM to meet the manufacturing targets.
• Maintain the product information and engineering methods and procedures up to date.
• Ensure design support by providing drawing control, distribution and revision, paper work etc.

To be considered for this role you should have,
• University degree in Electrical engineering.
• 2-3 years of experience in design engineering for transformers.
• Experience working with transformer systems or related technologies (e.g. electromagnetics, induction systems, etc.) would be an added advantage.
• Proficiency CAD design software and basic computer applications.
• Strong English verbal and written communication skills.
