EHS Technician/ EHS Engineer

• Ensure processes are in specified ranges relating to HEPA and HEPA controls.
• Interface with other departments and vendors.
• Knowledge of scientific testing equipment and limitations.
• Test industrial ventilation systems (HEPA filter) efficiency.
• Responsible to implement the Environmental Health and Safety Management program in accordance with Regulations and ISO standards.
• Responsible to perform IH sampling.
• Responsible to provide manufacturing with necessary support to prevent incidents impacting EH&S.
• Maintains EH&S Control Procedures and records per regulations, ISO and OHSAS Standards.
• Responsible for completing required inspections as directed.
• Assists in EHS daily works i.e. translation, training of personnel and in EHS Committee Activities.
• Defines and implements corrective/preventive actions and continuous improvement activities as directed.
• Performs other assignments as required

Experience:
• Basic understanding of HVAC systems.
• Instrumentation and testing equipment background preferred.

Required Skills/Competencies:
• Good English, spoken and written, is required.
• Strong mathematic skills.
• Proven EH&S skills in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
• Proven EHS problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of internal audit procedures (ISO and OHSAS).
• General knowledge of process exhaust HEPA containing processes.
• Strong computer skills.
• Ability to understand and use scientific testing equipment.
• Previous experience of air sampling methods and equipment.
• Knowledge of and experience with hazardous material handling and disposal standards and procedures

Education:
• Engineering or science degree required

Travel:
• Occasional travel to First Solar Malaysia manufacturing site
