EHS Engineer (Working in Cam Pha-Quang Ninh)

*Job Summary

The position will be responsible for the implementation and supervision of the maintenance and protection of Environment and implementation of Safety Procedures. He/she will also act as coordinator for the implementation of other related Environmental and Safety Programs to keep those in line with all the standards/regulations as set by the law of Vietnam and by the company, the corporate overall activities AES-VCM Mong Duong Power Plant.

*Key Result Areas
1. Implement Safety management plan, Environment management plan, EHS procedures, and internal/ external reporting during Plant Constructions and Operations.
2. Maintain company environment permits and monthly reporting to governments & other stakeholders.
3. Help establish a world-class safety culture at AES Mong Duong.
4. Implement Best practices in EHS in AES plants around the world and implement them at AES Mong Duong.
5. Establish OSH Auditing procedure at AES Mong Duong.
6. Initiate, coordinate and develop HSE related training programs.
7. Maintain EHS records as per the requirement of AES Mong Duong EHS procedures.
8. Programs Implementation: Closely coordinate with the Operations, Maintenance and Other Support Groups in the implementation of Solid Waste, Hazardous Waste Management, and other related Environmental Programs
9. EMS Implementation: Assists in the establishment and implementation of the Environmental Management System
10. Conduct of Monitoring: Assists in the conduct of monitoring and other related monitoring activities
11. Compliance: Strictly complies with corporate governance and principles, such as but not limited to Housekeeping, Safety, Environmental, and Code of Conduct and Discipline
12. Implement the environmental monitoring program and report to DONRE; MONRE; lender and other stakeholders as EIA requirements;
13. May perform other tasks that may be assigned from time to time

Job Specifications / Competencies
1. Bachelor’s degree in Environment / Safety Engineering or equivalent
2. At least 8 years of experience in Operational plant / Industry.
3. Has a positive attitude & strong advocacy of safe work practices and procedures
4. Must have reasonable communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Has excellent English reading and writing skills.
6. Must possess proficient skills in Microsoft Office software
7. Must have experience in the implementation of EHS procedures.
8. Must have experience in conducting the Risk assessment and Env Aspect Impact Assessment (AIA) of the operational plant. Implementation & review).
9. Management of Change (MoC) process.
10. Knowledge of Lock-out & Tag-out (LOTO).
11. Knowledge of Incident investigation.
12. Management of contractors in the Operational plant.
13. Good understanding of local and international Environmental regulations
