Devops -Database Administrator

Duties and Responsibilities:

Be responsible for DB administration and DB related design, development tasks on MSSQL, PostgreSQL and MySQL, NoSQL DB (MongoDB,FireBase).

Working as a DevOps to operate, maintain LMS/ERP system (Django & PowerApp Platform) including multi DB Platforms/Operating Systems Platform, Keep Alived, HA Proxy, CI/CD, source code management/deployment, Linux, Azure cloud environment.

Proactively monitor server and database process health to ensure availability and performance.

Provide database performance tuning.

Validate and maintain data security.

Define best practices, help internal users/developers with good database design, provide tips, skill sharing.

Back up, restore, analyze and predict workload.

Work closely with development and end-user.

Position Requirements:

3+ years experience in DBA, DevOps.

Hands­on experience in relational database design, transactional SQL and DBMS (PostgreSQL, MSSQL, MySQL).

Analytical, problem solving ability.

Experience working on multitasking and prioritizing.

Able to work independently and collaboratively.

Know how to make decisions, explain and presentation.

In­depth knowledge of database internals and data structures.

Hands­on experience with database optimization and tuning.

Good knowledge of Linux operating system administration.

Hands-on experience with development in scripting languages: shell, python, perl…, Ruby on Rails, CSS.

Hands­on experience with development of DB related tooling: deployment, monitoring…

Prefer if candidate have:

Hands-on experience with managing large data volumes (1+ TB).

Hands-on experience with Graphite monitoring / Grafana.

Hands-on experience with automatic deployment tools such as, Jenkins, Docker containers, GIT, Bitbucket…

Qualification:

Education, Training & Certification: a minimum of a four-year BA degree in a related field and relevant experience, as follows:

Education: A bachelor’s degree in information technology or computer science.

Certifications: Advanced education and certifications are required to work as a database administrator. Obtaining a certification specializing in various database management systems is not required, but very helpful.

Capable of English speaking, writing and listening skills.

Contacts:

Works closely with the IT Ops team, IT Development team, IT Project team.

Liaises with 3rd party solution providers as requested.
