The Design Engineer will be responsible for day-to-day designing and estimation activities, develop models and provide a safe, workable and cost-effective design for the construction of buildings, industrial plans towards achieving the business targets and objectives.
Responsibilities:
• Meet with customers/consultants and effectively communicate Nova Buildings standard practices on specific jobs as instructed by the Group Supervisor
• Understand Customer requirements and suggest simplest and economical solutions that meet their requirements
• Advise Lead Design Engineer /Group Supervisor on major design problems
• Report to the Lead Design Engineer /Group Supervisor on special and non-standard design requirements, inventory items, non-standard fabrication requirements, non-standard shipping requirements
• Give early warning to the Lead Design Engineer /Group Supervisor if the assigned time schedule cannot be met
• Study all the relevant documents and assure compliance of the design with all the required criteria in terms of strength, serviceability and architectural considerations as stated in the PIS
• Identify technical/procedural incompatibilities and report through questionnaires
• Design & estimate the buildings in accordance with Design codes specified in the PIS and as per NB Standard procedure
• Responsible for the structural Integrity of design
• Coordinate with the estimation group to ensure that the assumptions made during quotations are considered in the job design, and to get tips for further optimization of building weight compared to quote designs /estimates
• Prepare the quote estimate, design package, final estimate and TML as per the assigned project
• Study the questions/clarifications raised by the Customer /Consultants and reply to them through the Group Supervisor
• Work Closely with design engineer/checker, detailing engineers/checkers to ensure the design is error free and all design/detailing requirement are incorporated

Skill Competencies and Requirements:
• Degree in Civil Engineering; Master’s Degree in Structural Engineering would be an added advantage
• At least 2 years’ experience in the design of steel buildings/structures with minimum of 6 months of PEB design experience; Steel industry experience would be an added advantage
• Extensive knowledge of products, designs, manufacturing processes and procedures
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Team player with the ability to adapt to new working environment with cooperative attitude
• Knowledge of International Design Codes
• Excellent Communication and Written Skills in English
• Proficient in MS Office, Computer Aided Design, AutoCAD, and design software (preferably STAAD.Pro, SAP)
Working conditions:
- Working time: Monday to Friday
- Working place: Bien Hoa 2 Industrial Zone
- Transportation: Self-commute
- Prefer candidates living in Bien Hoa City, Dongnai Province

SALARY: From 20MVND
