Design Development Engineer

The Head Office and Transformer Factories are located in Hanoi, High Voltage and Medium Voltage Power Product factories are in Bac Ninh, other branch offices are in Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City.

ABB’s Power Grid division delivers products, systems, services and software solutions. The products mainly include high voltage products, transformers, grid system and grid automation. The major customers are power value chain serving utility, industry, transportation and infrastructure.

ABB Vietnam currently has an opportunity for a Design Development Engineer who would be responsible to lead the technical engineering activities effectively and adhering to all the requirements and policy. Joining our team in Hanoi office and reporting to Engineering Manager, your key areas of responsibility will include, but are not limited to:

• Manage technical aspects by contributing to engineering development.
• Evaluate, select, adapt and authorise standard techniques, procedure and criteria to perform and manage conventional & complex projects.
• Provide customer support by collaborating for project installation, commissioning activities.
• Support sales by creating engineering project proposal and engineering estimates and engineering risk analysis.
• Handle contract management by supporting in issuing claims, (review new scope, cost impact, time impact).
• Define and allocate project task within team members and follow the schedule, cost and quality metrics.
• Evaluate risk and opportunities and work accordingly to achieve mitigation of project targets.
• Collaborate with customer to understand feedback and improve the delivery and support.
• Manage the subcontractors jointly with other involved functions, including supply chain management.
• Connect and collaborate with internal and external team to share best practices.
• Review and develop tools and processes and ensure they comply with the safety regulations and contract requirements.
• Lead, supervise and coordinate teams in all disciplines.

To be considered for this role you should have,
• University degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 07 years of experience in design electrical products.
• In-depth knowledge in a specific area.
• Electrical Power Equipment.
• Transformer design.
