Debate and Soft Skills Coach

POSITION OVERVIEW
• This position is a paid full-position offered by one of The Global Citizen Education Group's subsidiary in Vietnam. As such, the candidate will be based in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
• The ideal candidate should have a passion for co-curricular education, and at least 3 years of experience in a related and relevant field
• The position should ideally be filled immediately, but we are willing to negotiate a later start date based on the candidate's experience and qualifications if required.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develop debate and related curriculum, lesson plans and learning materials
• Conduct weekly classes for students in the range of 13 and up
• Work as part of a team to plan, coordinate and organize debate and related events, such as tournaments and workshops, etc.
• When necessary, accompany and provide on-site coaching for students at local and international debate and related events.

BENEFITS
• Monthly gross salary of USD $1,200 - $1,700, depending on the experience of the candidate

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
• Minimum undergraduate degree, a master's degree is considered a plus
• At least three years' experience coaching debate, experience in a related field such as World Scholar's Cup, Model United Nations, public speaking or communication skills is highly preferred.
• Successful track record in coaching high-performing debate teams
• Strong debating skills, evidenced by previous participation as an adjudicator or debater at local and/or international debate events.
• Excellent command of the English language, both written and verbal. Non-native candidates are most welcomed to apply.
• Excellent communication and creative problem-solving skills
• Experience working with ESL and EFL students
• Confidence in traveling with students abroad, and overseeing the entire trip independently.
