DCS Operator (Section 5.2)

A. Purpose

DCS Operator is responsible for performing all tasks assigned in a safe and responsible through established Procedures and written and oral instructions from the Shift Supervisor in order to provide water safely, treat effluent efficiently and within the strict environment.

B. Responsibility

For this position, minimum works are as follow:
* Operate DCS control console to coordinate and regulate process variables and to direct flow rates of various process and utility streams according to prescribed schedules
* Read processing schedules, operating logs, test results of samples, and laboratory recommendations to determine changes in equipment controls required to produce specified quantity and quality of product.
* Set controls to adjust process variables, such as flows, temperatures and pressures.
* Responsible for recording, compiling, reporting and documenting operating data, and monitoring process indicators.
* Coordinate the start-up, shut-down (normal & emergency) and normal operations with lead operator and field operators.
* Perform basic calculations for determining process parameters and material balances.
* Responsible for preparation such as plant isolation etc., for day-to-day maintenance work.
* Work directly with the foreign experts in the transfer of technical advice during the initial period of operation.

1. Educational Level : Minimum required is graduated vocational school with major chemistry, mechanical or equivalent.

2. Work Experience : Minimum 4 years’ experience in operation of utilities system includes one year’ experience in operation DCS or PUCS system.

3. Specialty Skills:

* Knowledge and understanding of equipment / plant operation and maintenance
* Report writing and presentation skills.
* Able to operate the plant from the Control Room as well as being able to analyze complex problems under the pressure of emergency conditions.
* English skills IELTS 4.0 or equivalent.
* Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and Outlook.
