The successful incumbent for Country Director, Vietnam will be expected to lead, develop and control the business and operations at the country-level to achieve short and long-term financial and operating objectives (profitability, revenue, productivity, market share) in line with division and company strategy.
Description
* Defines the business strategy considering vertical and/or horizontal guidelines and objectives
* Ensures effective management of business and operations at the country level
* Supervises sales, marketing and operations, and may have responsibility for regional accounting, purchasing, personnel, and / or financial functions
* Ensures effective management and takes responsibility for the country-level P&L, cost and revenue management and controls / supervises consolidated budget
* Drives the exploration and exploitation of growth opportunities
* Decides difficult cases and makes sure that decisions are carried out properly, for example concerning product and market strategy, business development, investments, etc.
* Extensively analyses complex multi-dimensional issues and modifies working methods in own work area
* Implements modification within own authority which directly influences the way the organisation is operating, making money and managing people
* Reaches agreement with external parties to accept complete proposals and programs where there is little interest in cooperating or participating
* Negotiates critical agreements / contracts and has the mandate / authority to sign them, changing T&Cs significantly
* Approves all major projects including integration projects at the country level
* Recruits and develops the members of the country leadership team; keeps them motivated and coordinates their efforts
* Approves key personnel decisions for the country
* Generates commitment, motivation and enthusiasm for the company and division
* Leads and manages team; determines team structure, roles and performance targets in co-operation with functional leaders
* Evaluates performance and proposes performance-based compensation for direct staff
Profile
* Minimum 12 years of experience in different senior management functions in a logistics company
* Manages and leads teams through professional standard knowledge and practical experience in several functional areas
* Strategic with good business acumen, external market and customer oriented, able to develop and define the Vietnam business strategy.
* Familiar with the Vietnam business and regulatory environment and knows how to build business and organisation in Vietnam.
