Contract Manager

What will you do?
To ensure that site and contract under his jurisdiction are managed efficiently with the object of maximizing profitability whilst maintaining standards and relationships.
To proactively provide expert support to the Project Manager through, in addition to other duties, anticipation, identification, evaluation and treatment of contractual risks and to manage contractual obligations.

Key Responsibilities:
General
• Preparation and agreement of the Contract Management Plan.(CMP)
• Implementation of the Contract Management Guide (CMG)
• Provide support to the Project Manager and the Project Team in all contractual and project controls issues.
• Prompt reporting as required.

Obligations Management (as per CMG)
• Identification of contractual obligations and preparation and undertaking of the tracking systems to monitor ours, and other parties’ (client and partner) contractual obligations.
• Ensuring that all contractual notifications are issued correctly and timely.
• Preparation and systematic updating of all project registers.

Progress Monitoring (as per CMG)
• Assist in progress reviews and identifying potential claims against Suez and opportunities for Suez.
• Review progress to identify and manage the “defense file” actions as CMG.

Payments and Financial
• Prepartion of monthly payment applications and the tracking of payments and disbursements (if any) to partners.
• Assisting with certification of payments to subcontractors and suppliers as required.
• Ensuring financial records are collected, in an agreed form, to support all current and potential future claims.

Communications
• Review of incoming and outgoing correspondences.
• Preparation and checking of contractual correspondence prepared by others.
• Ensuring project correspondence system is being implemented and to assist with identification of specific subjects and associated document control.
• Ensuring site project diary and record sheets (by others) are being prepared in accordance with agreed requirements.
• Assist in preparation of project reports including monthly progress reports.
• Timely submission of monthly Contract Managers report.

Claims Management
• Management of notifications.
• Preparation of claims as necessary, and in a timely manner
• Ensure collection of data throughout contract which could be required for future claims.
• Ensure the production of the As Built programme and evidences.

Your professional
• Knowledge and proven ability in the management of construction contracts.
• Sound knowledge of relevant Conditions of Contract.
• Well developed communication skills, both verbal and written, including demonstrated ability to control meetings, prepare reports and present recommendations to high levels.
• Energetic and ability to work on own initiative.
• Must be a team player and be able to not only take direction but also to provide support to others in the team.
• Ability to be constantly proactive.
• Must be diplomatic and committed to avoid adversarial relationships.

Experience
10-15 years overall experience in the Contract Management of construction projects for contractors.
Experience working with JV’s or Consortia will be advantageous.
