Compliance Specialist

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
• Coordinate with suppliers to successfully implement WSI Social and Environmental Compliance programs
• Support implementation of annual environmental survey processes, collect and analyze related external and internal data for business management and programs to set and surpass WSI’s impact reduction targets, as well as report on progress to stakeholders.
• Track and report fiber and wood usage with vendors on a bi-annual basis
• Monitor and report participation, scores, 3rd party verifications and delivery of actions plans from vendors for social compliance audits and HIGG FEM tools
• Communicate with suppliers, consultants, 3rd parties, mills, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely execution of process and data collection related sustainability initiatives
• Respond to questions and clarify within the team and supply chain partners
• Deliver needed communications, trainings and visits to factories to strengthen education and awareness on WSI social and environmental responsibility protocols and expectations.
• Support manager to develop effective relationships with business team for effective monitoring and execution of factory improvement plans.
• Escalate potential crisis situations to management, as appropriate,
• Prepare, maintain and update regular reports/records as directed by management.

• Bachelor’s or master's degree in environmental science, business administration, biology, engineering or related field
• Knowledge of and passion for social and environmental issues
• Strong data analysis, communication, and project management skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively across multiple functions
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word)
