Coating Engineer

Join Hempel Group’s Technical Service team as our new Coating Engineer, and be the first line of contact to our clients and customers to whom we provide innovative coating solutions to!

As our new colleague, you’ll be responsible for delivering fast and reliable customer-oriented technical support to our organization, as well as supporting our value selling activities through technical documentation. Here you’ll cooperate closely with sales functions supporting their efforts in a dynamic environment and you can expect frequent business travel.

As a Coating Engineer, you’ll be the expert for the client to contact when they face new challenges for a coatings solution, or when they has an idea on how to better utilize one of our products. By consulting and advising on critical issues from the market, you’ll be our ear on the ground, and continuously locate new opportunities for developing the product we sell.
We expect our future colleague will be able to:

• Provide technical advice and support on Hempel’s product and services to Hempel’s customers while complying to the technical parameters/ specification, practices and procedures
• Working with Hempel’s sales and delivering the agreed level of services to the customers in accordance to the agreement while demonstrating strong customers orientation where customers recognizes the value Hempel’s services
• Delivering the service and product performance through observation, monitoring (of site work), highlighting (to customers, TS managers and sales) and recording (on corporate reporting) on any deviation to the specification execution.
• Evaluate customer needs and recommend the right products.
• Assist in complaint handling to ensure efficient complaint resolution and timely closure.
• Proactive in advising application and performance related concerns and immediately addressed to external stakeholders in consultation with sales and TS management.
• Ensure conforming to Hempel’s reporting guidelines
• Analyze problems and implement our coating solutions
• Assist in coaching and development of junior staff.

What is expected of our future Coating Engineer?

As our new expert-on-the-frontline, you are customer centric and enjoy giving supports to stakeholders both outside and within the organization. We see you as being thorough, orderly and reliable with solid painting and follow-up skills. We also expect that our future colleague have:
• NACE 2/3 and FROSIO 2/3.
• At least 3 year experience in delivering services or coatings in shipyard’ or shop line or refineries/plant environment either as applicator, yard or paint maker experience
• Strong customers focus and orientation.
• Able to travel within short notices and without passport restriction.
• Good communication competence in Vietnamese and English, both written and spoken, with good reporting skills.
• Basic IT skills and familiarity with MS Office 365
• The ability to be flexible and operate independently, with a good sense for teamwork.
• Self-motivated and well organized.
