Clinical Application Specialist

***Description & Principal Purpose

- Clinical Applications:
Will be responsible for promoting, educating, and training physicians, technicians, nurses, and other health care providers on Zeiss refractive laser’s clinical applications and future treatments.
Must possess and apply comprehensive knowledge of laser vision correction with emphasis on nomogram development and retrospective outcomes analysis. Must be able to understand and review pre and post operative data in order to recommend and implement changes for the betterment of patient outcomes and increase SMILE procedures. Successful application and use of these skills maintains and guards the reputation of ZEISS and increases procedure volume and conversion.
Perform surgeon, technician application certification training and application optimization to ensure the safe and effective use of all Zeiss refractive lasers.

• Application support of installed equipment base.
• Help to identify new cases and education of patient recruitment and treatment workflow.
• Customer support as technically competent partner in the use of the new applications during the intra-operative procedure.
• Ensure the safe and effective use of the installed equipment with clinical optimization of laser settings and visual outcomes
• Demonstration and training in the operation room for new applications and special cases.
• Increase application security and safety for patients.
• Recording of experiences and providing information to all users via case reports.
• Reporting the refractive cases into the international clinical data base
• Support the service team new installation.
• Regular follow-up of the existing installed base.

- Sales Activities:
In this role the candidate needs to support the sales/marketing activity in Vietnam by active collaboration with the local sales, marketing & service team to drive the procedure growth and conversion
• Regular customer engagement through PDC supports. Act as the contact person between regional team and end users for all PDC activities in Vietnam
• Actively support needed by presence in conferences booth & engagement with the new customers& existing end users.
• Taking lead in organizing the symposium & CME’s.
• To act as connecting link between the end users & SSC
• Management of clinical data to share with Global Application team.
• Taking responsibility of a demo to the new customers.
• Helping the sales team by proper product positioning

• Clinical Trainer for Refractive lasers (Visumax, Mel-80, Mel-90, Atlas, CRS-Master - Region: Southeast Asia
• Drive new applications for refractive lasers

***Requirement
Education
- Degree in Medical Physics, Science or equivalent

Experience
- At least 4 - 5 years’ experience in the OR or RT environment
- Possess medical background, working with Surgeons.
- Prior experience as a Medical Technical Assistant or Optometrist or Surgery nurse will be an added advantage
- Strong technical knowledge
- Must possess detailed understanding of the anatomy of the human eye, optics and refraction as they pertain to excimer laser vision correction. Must have a complete and conversational understanding of corneal topography, femtosecond laser, keratometry, abberometry and excimer laser theory. It is essential to have a complete understanding of patient treatment planning for LVC treatments.
- Must be able to deliver technical presentation materials for internal and external customers that deal with complex refractive applications. Assist management in special projects as requested.
