Chief Solution Architect

Implementation leadership
• Make key architectural decisions on critical processing and project/program issues and escalate appropriately
• Drive the architecture for key cross team / cross product development projects (via architecture/design documents and developing code key modules)
• Create comprehensive technical approach documents for both small and large projects accounting for all areas of system and application development with consideration for intersections with other initiatives and processing platforms
• Ensure that all relevant project teams follow a common set of principles and patterns and utilize a standard set of technology frameworks and libraries
• Apply architecture best practices that help increase execution velocity
• Contribute to key FinOS technology initiatives
• Be responsible for the optimization of development practices and environments
• Provide hands-on assistance through code reviews and providing reference examples
• Troubleshoot for performance, scalability and availability issues for integrated solutions, and debugging production problems
• Hands-on both low-level & high-level coding when needed.
Team leadership
• Mentor and build world-class high-performing engineering teams
• Foster collaboration across teams through mentoring and expert guidance as required to develop the most cost-effective solutions
Technology leadership
• Establish software development patterns and best practices via examples and shipping code
• Influence technology selection for the enterprise
• Define deployment topology by working with peers across the Technology organization
• Demonstrate thought leadership through presentations and teaching across FinOS
• Provide architectural leadership to other application development leads to develop flexible, cost effective approaches to tactical and strategic business requirements
• Develop architectures that are inherently secure, robust, scalable, modular, API-centric and global.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and business directions and have the ability to apply to strategic direction and roadmap activity
Business unit facing
• Collaborate with business leadership to develop and clarify requirements to enable development of technical solutions that span FinOS systems
• Provide subject matter expertise across the organization in the areas of Lending, Investment, Insurance and Credit scoring.
• Provide executive level support for initiatives, particularly as related to re-use, funding requirements and areas of risk

Technology Experience
• 12+ years of experience in mobile, web front end & back end development technologies in general
• Extensive hands on design/coding experience/skills using Java, Spring, Spring Boot with elegant coding abilities and ability to develop solid prototypes or core components quickly
• Experience in designing high-performing, scalable systems, including both software and infrastructure
• Experience in building data driven frameworks and solutions
• Experienced with cloud-based technologies, especially AWS
• Experienced in architecting, developing and deploying microservices
• Proven knowledge of successful design, architecture and development using Hadoop with large data volumes, expertise with Big Data technologies including Hadoop, Spark, Hive, etc.
• Good at designing architecture to meet specific non-functional requirements (performance, security …)
• Possess a deep understanding of benefits/drawbacks of different integration patterns
• Continuous delivery and Dev Ops experience - infrastructure automation, monitoring, logging, auditing and security implementation and practices
• Good knowledge & experienced in Cloud/Container and other new technologies e.g. Blockchain, AI, FinTech, etc.
• Excellent technical documentation and diagramming skills
Business experience
• Experienced in working with financial systems.
• Significant knowledge of the financial service and all products and services provided by FinOS (Lending, investment, insurance and credit scoring)
Management experience
• Multi-tasking ability essential to handle multiple priorities with minimal direction from management
• Excellent soft skills: leading client and team discussions, team player, ability to train others
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills required

• Very strong English communication skills (both written and speaking)
