Chief Engineer

GENERAL MISSION
The Chief of Engineer serves as a supporting role to the Director of Engineer (expat). The Chief of Engineer will partner with the Director of Engineer in the leadership, planning, organization, and direction for the Engineering Department in the most efficient and effective manner possible, while maintaining the company’s expected high-quality standards. The Chief of Engineer will oversee daily operations of the Engineering Department; provide supervision and direction of engineering technicians; perform safety inspections

ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Raise up the purchase order when operation needed
- Follow up and ensure the purchase order is correct
- Prepare duty monthly roster for staff
- Office general documents

RESPONSIBILITIES AND MEANS
- Empowers associates to provide excellent customer service
- Responsible for overseeing the engineering operation of the resort.
- Manage and support all financial aspects of the engineering department.
- Performs other duties as needed.
- Train and supervise maintenance staff.
- Assists in effectively planning, scheduling and evaluating preventative maintenance programs.
- Monitors timeliness and quality of completion of repair work orders.
- Supervises Engineering and related areas in the absence of the Director Engineer.
- Assists in managing the physical plant including equipment, refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing, water treatment, electrical and life safety systems.
- Ensures that regular on-going communication occurs with associates to create awareness of business objectives, communicate expectations and recognize performance.
- Recommends or arranges for additional services such as painting, repair work, renovations, and the replacement of furnishings and equipment.
- Selects and order or purchase new equipment, supplies, and furnishings.
- Supervises the day to day operations of Engineering and related departments.
- Maintains accurate logs and records as required.
- Operates generators and fire pumps as necessary.
- Problem-solving and trouble-shooting skills necessary

RELATIONS
- Establishes and maintains open, collaborative relationships with associates.
- Cooperate with all departments to ensure better work flow.
- Assist with house Keeping and Front office to make sure the equipment in the room work well to meet guest’s satisfaction.
- Establishes and maintains effective employee relations.
- Maintains open communication with subordinates through regular team meetings, briefings, including ongoing team building and performance development.
- Must be a good listener, with good comprehension and retention.

TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITIES (SKILL)
- PC Skills
- Microsoft Office: Word, excel, outlook, AutoCAD
- Key systems, Property
- Power Tool operation
- Pumps and mechanical
- HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing
- Pool.

HUMAN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Understand about staff
- To sure staff work well as a team
- Able to solve out the conflict between staff and staff, staff and supervisor
- Provides consultation and assistance to the staff during working
- Ensure staff obey the hotel policies

LIMITS OF AUTHORITY
- Every document and paper work must have sing from Director of Engineer before process.
- For the better work flow and avoid mistake, Maintenance supervisor must discuss, share and get authorize from Director of Engineer before working process.
- Discuss with Director of Engineer about the schedule of maintenance and what to do.
- Take decision when absent of Director of Engineer
- Sign documents if Director of Engineer absent or take leave
